The nerf to MR is whatever as far as single target goes, sure its a nerf but it brings us in line with the majority of the upper half. Where it is going to really hurt is in keys, where we and so many other classes struggle to even get an invite because we aren’t Meta classes. Imo it is a huge oversight on blizzards part to nerf MR because of our single target when it is what we rely on to be competitive in aoe. I have to wonder if Blizzard even watches the MDI or looks at the burst that fire mages have, and I wish I could send them clips saying “yup, this didn’t need a nerf whatsoever”.

are you guys referring to the convoke buff because of the necro warrior change? or did i miss a numeric change to convoke itself
I’m somehow missing the convoke buff. As a feral main that’s kinda embarrassing for me.

There is no convoke buff, it’s people not knowing how to read MMO-C, which I’m surprised anyone still goes to considering what a mess it is.

I have to agree with this. It is really sad that warlocks get nerfed in the 1 area that makes us remotely competitive. Desto is so bad on Tyrannical and I love my lock but I also love high keys so I switched to affliction just so I could remain competitive on some level. The only way I can fight trash and maintain a decent amount of DPS in keys is with dots and MR. Now that it is being nerfed, I doubt groups will want to invite since we will no longer maintain the burst damage needed to clear packs fast. Our only form of burst is being nerfed and it is really sad this is the route they have decided to take. I could see nerfing DOT damage if they want to lower lock single target damage but all nerfing MR does is hurt us on multi target even more than we already are. It is our only form of burst damage!

Can’t nerf DoT damage, because DoTs hit like wet noodles already. Literally the only thing they could hit is MR, because MR is the only thing that does damage for Aff. In PvP DoTs do a tiny bit of damage with Rapid Contagion+DSM up, but that’s buffing your ticks to like 1 tick per 0.5 seconds or basically around 2 ticks/second kinda thing, so yeah that regard they’ll do more damage. Outside of that, though, they just hit like wet noodles in PvE.
Go look at your combat logs, and add up how much MR is ahead of everything else. Add in spells #2/3/4 and possibly 5 and/or 6 just to get to MR.
being better than Retail WoW is a pretty low bar to hit so I wouldn’t be surprised

This is the most concaved head argument I’ve ever seen. People have dedicated their lives to WoW and some people play the game specifically because of a class they like. Imagine telling a sports fan to move on after their team is on a losing streak. Actual negative IQ
