Ringing Deeps max campaign quest is epitome of what sucks about modern questing

Slayer of deathwing, N’zoth, Lich King. Maw walker of the shadowlands, savior of the dragonflights

and the main story quest at max level is us having to clean kelp out of gutters and running fetch quests around a zone. Having to complete a delve so kobold’s can get ‘shinies’ and we can clear a blocked pipe. Hilariously unnecessary time

We had to do this garbage for the leveling quests and side quests but whatever I get that those are usually fluff designed to delay leveling as long as possible but this is the max level story quest. This should be for important events, cutscenes, story advancement etc. It’s so immersion breaking and they do it every single xpac.

I don’t know, while a valid argument; I think this expansion has done better then all others in this regards. I mean as much as I loved raiding in MoP, MoP was the expansion that had literally farming as the max level dailies for the Champion of Azeroth. At least the daily grind isn’t as bad as TBC or WoLK at their peak.

This honestly has been the biggest issue WoW has had to deal with. How to keep upping the stakes, giving players new heights to grind to, without jumping the shark. We are many xpacs in so, I can see how this has become more and more difficult. I really think the only solution is to get rid of fixed quest/mob drop rewards and go to a model more akin to Diablo, where quests, MoBs, and drops just always scale up with the player, no matter if it is old or new content.
