a question for the experts on prot paladins out there… righteous protector talent (reduces cd of avenging wrath by 1 sec for each holy power spent) doesn’t seem to work if u pick Sentinel as a talent. i tested it on dummies with a timer. it DOES work however if u pick Avenging wrath: Might. is this intention or a bug?
also, doesnt avengers shield not producing holy power, makes aoe pulls a lot more awkward? or is it just me?
I would expect it to be similar to the Crusade situation with Retribution, but I don’t have much experience with the spec. There were talents that were not working with Crusade which should clearly have been and they do now - but they could just decide that it doesn’t work with Sentinel if they felt like it. It’s probably just a bug though.
No communication from the devs stating if it is a bug or not. I assume it is a bug as the wording states sentinal COMBINES with avenging wrath, not replaces it.
I believe this is working as intended. If you don’t have sentinel selected as a talent, it says at the top “Replaces Avenging Wrath”. At the bottom where it says “combines with avenging wrath” it is including all of the other abilities you may have selected. So sentinel still benefits from Sanctified Wrath for example, but Righteous specifically only gives CDR for Avenging Wrath.
For what it’s worth this would make sense too, because if sentinel benefited from CDR it would be ridiculously strong (if it isn’t already). Just speculation, but passes the smell test for me.
Oh that’s nice. It used to not, and there was no way I was going to pick Sentinel over normal wings if it didn’t benefit from cooldown reduction as well. With the cooldown reduction, it’s a choice between damage reduction on wings or extra crit. Definitely taking the damage reduction for anything that isn’t face-roll.
