Hello, I have been doing arena this season purely to grind vicious saddles, so the numbers next to my characters name mean absolutely nothing to me.
I am healer who has been spamming solo to grind progress on saddles as fast as possible. I’m at a rating now where I’m winning about half the matches and they take way longer than I would like them to. So I am gaining progress toward the saddles at a much slower rate.
I am wondering what is fastest way to tank my rating without ruining the game for others. Basically is there a “right” or ethical way to do this?
would prob recommend running 2s with someone who also doesn’t mind losing rating, and just dropping when stuff gets harder than u want

Hi, thankyou for your reply, but I have been doing solo 3v3 because for a draw or win I gain 2% progress, but in 2v2 I noticed I only gain 1% progress for every other win- so I havent been focusing 2v2 at all, so I’m not sure if this would help me very much.
That might be a tradeoff you have to make if you want to keep your conscience 
Since people in soloq can’t choose to play or not to play with you, doing anything besides playing to win is adversely affecting everyone else in the lobby, besides the other healer
you could play a different alt I guess if the leveling + gearing time investment is more worth it to you

This is called deranking and it’s against the tos. There is no ethical way to throw games.

Running in and throwing a 2s game isn’t against the ToS or any person whose ever played arena from now to inception would have been banned, has run in tagged the enemy and /afk.
It is but they don’t generally action for it because nobody is mad about free wins.

Idk. I think some awc team had an issue with mmr manipulation because they tanked chars for boosts or something. In general though you can just spam lose freely and nobody cares and nothing gonna happen.

Yeah, it’s what I use to do for 2s carries. Dump rating to the basement and then just climb with the carry

Thats a hard trade-off to accept, because I would have to go from drawing/winning 50 solo 3v3s to get a saddle- to winning 200 2v2s to get a saddle.
Seems like the consensus is to create an alt, but I’m not sure if the time it takes me to level and gear an alt is any better than just continuing where I am at with 50/50 draw/winrate.
Do you happen to know what happens if I exit the game immediately once it starts? Would I lose rating for this? Would this effect the mount progress? Would this stop the game and not effect the rating of the other players in the match?
You know the progress shares in all forms of rated content right?

No, could could you elaborate on that a bit further? I thought it was only through rated PvP.
edit: when I hover the progress bar it says 'Win rated PvP matches at a rating of 1000 or higher"
I think he means all forms of ranked
so you can play whichever char in any bracket as long as wins are above 1k cr
if you want saddles just spam chill cap 3s and win or lose in 1 minute
