Right clicking

is anyone looting by accident when right clicking to attack another mob?

just wondering if the hitboxes were always this huge ?

I had a death by watermelon a few days ago. I was in stealth in crowded area where i was pickpocketing. My bags were full so i tried to click the watermelon to destroy it and accidentally right click. It popped me out of stealth and immediately killed by the 7 enemies in the area

Death by watermelon has happened to many rogues

I have actually had the opposite issue: trying to click a specific mob out of a mass and only being able to target the body under it, making the loot window open instead.

Use the nameplates, it saves lives.

Honestly… right clicking to attack something is a bad habit you should break. This causes you to attack incorrect targets, break CC, loot , get accidentally baited into a pvp fight… lots of reasons.

yeah thats what i mean! tanking a dungeon more than once, one of them falls over and in the middle of tanking 3+ mobs more often than not finding myself bent over looting a lot of the time

but I was mostly wondering … were hotboxes this big in classic ? I never remember accidentally looting in past experiences retail or classic.

Yes.
Even though I need to make an attack start macro instead of right clicking, it is annoying and seems the game like to prioritize you looting over attacking if they are stacked.

You mean binding the attack key to something (T by default)?

You threw me with the hitbox part is all. Loot hitboxes do seem a bit extreme on corpses. It is almost like corpse hitboxes are “standing up” like when the mob was alive.

@brokenwind @ permagrin exactly, something that is laying down seems to be on top of everything else, I don’t know if its a byproduct of the classic stuff being in the new engine or intentionally designed like that to emulate the classic feel as I really don’t remember huge click/hitboxes

and yeah I hadn’t ignored the other posts, I really should macro start attack into my main skills

No.
I mean making a macro for some of my main attacks that include /startattack (i think it is) so that I can tab / swap targets, hit my move and even without energy, I will start autoattacking.
Right now, if I do no right click, I will stand there until I have the energy to do a move, then autoattacks start.

the boxes are much larger, many times when you try to switch targets you will loot the corpes underneath for some reason. never encountered this before.

Might be worth a new thread in the classic bug forum?

Yes, too often. Had to pretty much go to tab targeting but still you have to turn by right clicking an open spot, so it still happens. Worse, you can miss a roll on the loot by clicking loot on body.

So do you tab target or use nameplates or both? Edit add: And how do you turn when in melee?

That’s what I meant. I bind the toggle attack action to F to have it closer (T by default) (not bind it to a slot in my action bar, there is an actual keybind that does just that). So when moving to your next target, all you have to do is press Tab->F or left click -> F. You can even press F again to stop attacking without unselecting the mob (usefull in some group fights). I still keep the attack skill somewhere on my bars to know if the attack is toggle on or off.

Both. I use tab when I am being lazy and I click on the nameplate when I need to be precise.

At least horse thieves were sometimes given trials before hanging back in 19th century US.

In Classic WoW, it seems they are a little more hard nosed about pick pockets.

this is still happening, in the middle of fights people are looting because looting dead mobs is taking target priority over EVERYTHING, blue plz ?
