Hey guys, just wondering if this would help solve the problem with some people worrying about seeing naughty or suggestive language. I understand the right click report feature is suppose to make it to classic but would love to have a few servers that omit it and be age locked or something.
Most of the threads I’ve seen in favor of the right click report focus on the fact that people can be like bullied and all that jazz (i completely understand that its mainly for flagging cheaters) but if there’s an option to report based on saying “bad” works I’d like to avoid that issue all together.
Like I get if people want a super PC area where it’s like hugs and rainbows (which is cool) but I kinda wanna play in a fantasy realm where we can talk smack, grief each other, say silly stuff and just have fun without being attacked by someone who doesn’t share the same humor as i do.
Anyway, just a thought. It might be too late to even implement something like this, maybe in the future…but Blizzard, listen. I will pay an extra $5 a month to have adult only servers. And I’m not talking about like the special adult only site stuff, I mean ones where grownups know how to take a hit and give one back (verbally of course) and not be offended enough to report for saying mean things.
Sorry for the rant, but just wanted to put it out there. /hugs

I’d wager there are way more adults that abuse features like this than kids.

We have that with retail Moonguard and look how badly that turned out.

Sure, I guess my thought was just to have a server where it wasn’t implemented. I mean to say, many people point toward the fact that kids can play the game and that’s why its “important” to have a feature to stop them from seeing the bad words and stuff. So either kids or adults wouldn’t have the option to report based on things that some deem offensive.

How would you prove their age? They already have to pay by credit card to even log in.

Never played on Moonguard and haven’t played retail since WoD. Didn’t know they had a server like that already. What happened when they took away that feature, I’m not familiar with the situation.
How about just not saying bad words? Can you refrain from using bad words in an elementary school? If so, I think you can do it here too, if not you might want see a counselor of some sort. Matter of Fact, you can’t use bad words here in these forums either.

True ture, it is the internet so ppl could lie. But that’s kinda on the parents to ensure their kids aren’t playing in an adult area. And again, not like the “hub” adult but just an area where people don’t have the ability to report based on being insulted. Maybe adult is the wrong word, but something along those lines.

I was being sarcastic. Moonguard is famous for some pretty bad NC-17 level “role play”.

Right, I agree. The forums are open to anyone, so it makes sense to keep language and even some jokes omitted. And I say bad words because any word can be bad based on your interruption, experience or history with specific words. Which is why i suggested a space where people would feel safe to say what they wanted without ridicule. Again, i would be all for muting ppl, because that makes sense. Just the right click report for things that offends you seems out of touch. As with most ppl on the internet we all say dumb things sometimes.

So you want servers that are a safe place for you, where you don’t feel attacked for using language that makes others feel unsafe, uncomfortable and attacked.
I think your idea is bad and it doesn’t sound like an adult came up with it.

Well on an Adult server you don’t need this feature because well… you are Adults. You can handle it and if it’s too much there is that old saying. If you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen.

Hugs and rainbows aren’t cool and if bad words hurt you then you need to bury your head in a brick wall.

Well I wouldn’t just say for me but for all people that don’t want the fear of being banned for making like edgy jokes, or spamming words with items, or just where one feel offended by words in general.
And I understand the idea sounds bad, perhaps my ability to convey what I’m trying to say while typing is a little off atm.
Also, I’m not offended you are implying i’m not an adult but stating it doesn’t sound like an adult came up with it.
We cannot yet convince them to provide one rppvp server, yet you want them to provide multiple custom servers to cater to individuals who cannot enjoy the game without the freedom to be as edgy as possible.

Wow has a filter option ppl tend to turn it off. Yet blame everyone else around them.
Also, the game is rated for +13 above but I am sure parents don’t care. I personally would rate it at 16 to 17 due to it being an MMO game which you could get weirdos or with parent paying attention.
Even if you had an adult server ppl would lie about their age anyway.
So, whatever happens it doesn’t matter.
Not many ppl accept responsibility for oneself.

OMG, all the truth. First thing i turn off is that filter. Then of course that damn camera thing. Always messes me up.
You need to first educate yourself in the definition of safe space (space not place), then educate yourself as to the false dichotomy you just presented.
You have your assignment.
