Because it is only if it affects you that there’s a problem, right? That’s like saying account hacking isn’t a problem so long as it never happens to you.
yes, there has been no occasion, ever, where a random group of jerk just right-click report people in trade chat for no reason and get that person squelched / banned.
there’s has also never been any premade of 4 people kick the 5th one right before the end of a dungeon. that has never been a problem. or similar behavior in island expeditions to pick a more recent situation.
On a larger scale, social media absolutely don’t have problem with mobs mass-flagging video/post/tweet just to get at someone. there’s not even a group called sleeping giants created for that explicit purpose.
Once again, if there’s a group that don’t learn from their mistake… it’s people who ask for censorship.
‘’ it has never happened to ME! so clearly it’s not being abused left and right! ‘’
until it does happens to you, at which point we will laugh while pointing out how it is what YOU wanted and fought for.
If you want to fight against this system, your best course of action would be to no longer support Blizzard by playing their games. I assume by your adamant stance on this issue that this is the action you’ll be taking to show your opposition to this censorship.
It’s ironic that you mention account hacking and this system actually helps shut-down those compromised accounts before more damage can be done as well as notifying the account owner that something is amiss.
It also limits the exposure that Gold Selling sites get and the number of accounts they can further compromise. It helps to greatly shut down the endless loop of illegal gold sale ----> account compromise ----> further gold sales.
“I won’t stand idly by and let this censorship continue any longer!”
Proceeds to continue throwing money at Blizzard.
“STOP with this censorship Blizzard!”
Throws more money at Blizzard.
“STOP!!!”
You remind me of all the people outraged by business practices from companies like Nestle. The difference being, a lot of those people actually manage to boycott those products.
Blizzard needs to come out and address the issue that people are concerned with about RCR. That if a team of 40 people in AV right click report the opposite faction warrior with thunderfury, that that player gets kicked from the AV or disconnects.
It’s not the squelching that is the problem, it’s any automated disconnect/ban/server wide mute applied.
Oh so now you are also anti 2nd amendment? This thread wasn’t even about rights, but clearly you don’t even support constitutional rights. Why are you even in America if you don’t like freedom? There’s plenty of dictatorships you can be in.
RCR does not result in an automated ban or server wide mute.
It supposedly could disconnect you at some point but no one knows if it still can. If it does, it does not prevent you from immediately logging back in.
The automated squelch still allows you to whisper friends, reply to whispers to you, talk in guild/raid/party chat.
Even bans aren’t necessarily a result of review from RCR anymore because they added the option for GMs to just silence you rather than outright banning you.
Reading your responses to things is really bizarre. It’s like you are incapable of understanding or you have dyslexic interpretation of what you read.
I mean had you actually looked into what I wrote, you would have found that crime committed by legal concealed carriers is virtually nill, and you could have easily seen that I was making the point that the presence of the tool did not create abuse of said tool. But you managed to not do either and instead assume I meant that I am anti 2A. I mean holy cripes, dude.
