No punishments should be automated ever.
Right Click Report is a good system for gathering evidence of rule abuses. It streamlines the old system and makes it easier to handle special letters in chracter names. However, the RCR system is far to open to abuse as it is not entirely bound by “rules” as much as the “interpretation of the rules” by the mob mentality. It should solely be used to gather evidence that human GMs can then act accordingly upon. By leaving the entry-level punishments up to an automated system, the doors are left open to potential abuse of the system. But, with Blizzard not wanting to commit many (enough) personell to maintaing Classic, they will become reliant upon this automated system. The RCR isn’t the problem, automated punishments are.

Blizzard had said that the system will go live, if they want to make clear that the abuse of this feature is no joke, they will have to deliver serious punishment to abusers, not a warning but a 24 hrs ban on the first offense, an entire week on the second and finally a permaban.
I would be a lot happier if they did that. At least instill some fear for abusing the system. I get they cant have someone reviewing every complaint.
When they delved out punishment when you could clearly see the 3 other people talking about how they were abusing the reporting system because they could, yet still banned me when all they could come up with was a shakey ToS violation for “wtf”, I lost all faith in that game.
After $300 I wasnt putting another dime in HOTS if they could care less how the system was functioning.
