I’ve been experiencing the notorious “Right Click bug” recently, where drag-click doesn’t work, or glitches. It’s incredibly frustrating because Dragonriding’s entire gimmick is using the right click to move your dragon during flight, and it completely destroys the experience.
I’ve tried using certain in-game scripts, swapping mouses (my primary is a Logitech and it’s said to cause this problem), updating/reinstalling my mouse driver, disabling addons, disabling lock cursor, yet the problem still persists.
It’s weird because I didn’t have this problem back in Shadowlands, so I wonder what is the deal. WoW is literally the only game to cause this issue.
If right click does not hold it can be due interference with overlays altho if personally experienced this without overlays, however some modern gpu’s have MPO enabled so technically wow is running in a overlay and Blizzard probably messed this up cos if managed to abuse it and resize wow in a window and force my system into a blackscreen and system freeze by simply resizing it.
Anyway i would check your apps and see if any overlays active like from geforce experience discord etc, as windows game overlay tho i dont think this can be disabled anymore since windows 11 which is annoying.
Yeah probably windows it self causing issues there MPO issues with AMD gpu’s right now but i believe Nvidia had MPO issues recently as well i can already say disabling MPO wont fix this tho cos if had to disable it my self
What i can report tho is that Some apps are MPO unstable on AMD gpu’s and wow is one of the few that is also MPO unstable so perhaps wow is using MPO incorrectly or using MPO in a way that is currently broken and Microsoft needs to fix, since both Nvidia and AMD had issues with MPO.
MPO = Multi-plane overlays i believe geforce experience triggered some MPO issues before and then got a fix, its probably not as effective fix for everyone just like AMD did on their drivers cos im still having issues.
Anyway if seen right click not hold and see cursor appear and disapear while holding right click even bought a new mouse cos it was time for new one anyway since its very old and new one only needs to be charged once every 1 and half week more or less.
But if had right click issues on new mouse as well, and my old mouse had issues with right click as well as known issues but i already suspected it was game issue instead or overlay issue.
edit: btw windows uses MPO for better HDR experience, for example wow is one of the few games supporting autohdr but if you disabled windows game overlay in a sketchy way then autohdr stops functioning and requires clean install to make game overlay function again, so the issue may be caused by MPO it self.
edit: there is a way to disable game overlay by just uninstalling it with microsoft own package manager but highly not recommend it altho you could technically try and make a backup first just to see if it works, but this is more a Blizzard issue probably if you disable all the overlays and still have issues.
There issues with A and D not working as well randomly requiring log into another char and then log back in original char for it to fix since it persist after restarting the game even.
Then there also 1 person if seen report that click issues persisted after exiting the game which may be because MPO it self is having issues or bassicly a windows bug, no idea why it would be more common then in wow tho.
