As titled, got exalted, still costs 5,000 for 300 skill when I am exalted with Thrallmar.
You don’t get a discount when you’re exalted with Honor Hold/Thrallmar, it’s getting exalted with your races main city.
So for Blood Elves it’d be Silvermoon, Humans it’d be Stormwind, Gnomes would be Gnomeregan etc.
It should be based off the faction tied to the trainer. The one in Honor Hold is Stormwind, so the Thrallmar one should be Orgrimmar.
Alot of differing opinions. Its hard to research. I assume at some point in the game it was based on Thrallmar, if you use the vendor in Thrallmar. Is this point past or coming up?
I have a rogue that hasn’t touched honor hold rep outside of the quests but I’m exalted with Stormwind, epic flying costs 4k.
But it’s human so who knows.
The Discounts are tied to SW/Org, not HH/Thrallmar. Hovering over the npc should confirm that the faction their allied to is with the cities.
Im asking, did it change or is it going to change, there is documentation all over the internet and in game players who swear its Thrallmar or is going to be or was.
No, that’s always how they’ve been as far as I know. They’re found at those locations but are not part of those factions.
From wow Wiki
In 3.2 the faction discount has been expanded to apply to flying mounts, through Thrallmar/Honor Hold reputations.
That is correct, the flying mounts are based on Thrallmar/Honor Hold. However the riding skill is based on Stormwind/Orgrimmar
It is based off Org and SW rep. I turned in Runecloth on my DK and the cost went from 4500 to 4250 after hitting Revered, I didn’t bother to get exalted. So yes it’s not based off Honor Hold or Thrallmar rep anymore. Also the mount cost was 90g but in Shadowmoon Valley it was still 100g, oddly
- Artisan Riding (Skill 300): Faction discounts now apply (Honor Hold or [Valiance Expedition] for Alliance; Thrallmar or [Warsong Offensive]
Found this on 3 different websites in regards to patch 3.2, we are currently on 3.4
My guess is it has changed since 3.2?
Yes. Undocumented change in 3.2.2 reduced it to the current costs and changed the associated factions from Honor Hold/Thrallmar to Stormwind/Orgrimmar.
You guys are correct, we reduced the expert riding skill price in 3.2.2 to 225g. We also changed the faction discounts for the riding skill vendors in Honor Hold and Thrallmar to use Stormwind and Orgrimmar faction.
There are a couple reasons we made this change. First off, we wanted expert riding to be available to more people at level 60. 600g just did not seem like a reasonable expectation for most level 60 players to have when they roll into Hellfire Peninsula. Especially after purchasing your level 60 skills. The second change, regarding the factions just made a lot more sense this way since you will not have any Thrallmar or Honor Hold faction when you enter Hellfire.
Finally, I want to apologize for this change not making the patch notes. We strive to get every change we make into the notes but this one somehow slipped by. Once again, my apologies on that, but hopefully the lower price will help make up for it.
I just reread this. My post above is getting deleted.
Yes what a great idea… becase people cant simply farm thrallmar rep in 2 hours to hit exhalted, but good luck getting any Rep with Org lmao… seriously make both of them a discount this is ridiculous, u dont even have Org tabards yet
(This change penalizes boosted toons 100%)
The repeatable Runecloth quest still exists for every faction capital (including Orgrimmar), you know.
Yes i know friend thats what i had to do, spend tons of gold to buy and/or farm 1000+ runecloth (estimate). I’m speaking from the point of a boosted character not atleast giving Friendly or giving the rep that ‘normal’ leveling up quests would give, makes the investement not worth the 250g you will save from increasing it one rank, Revered or Exhalted would cost you well over 1,000 pure gold or atleast worth of time just to save the 500g. That’s why combining them just makes more sense regardless.
