Started doing pvp and HOLY … . Warlock literally has nothing to put on the table against most of the other heroes. If I fight against melee, that would be stun after stun and I am dead. If I fight against ranged, like hunter, there will be 0 damage because hunter can just run behind an obstacle after each shot or he can run and shoot. Priests can just go invis and do -50% of your hp as they pop out with rogue. Mages will totally dominated warlock on the arena.
Oh yeah, if someone has a ring that bumps ya off, it will interrupt your spell. Warlock have only 2 ways to saved themselves, Fear and Mortal coil. Fear can be applied only a couple of times and Coil has 45 seconds of cool down.
4 hours of pvp and only got to 45% win and 1500cr.
It is amazing how badly they nerfed warlocks. They used to be a challenge on the arena years back, and now, if I play melee and see warlock, its an easy win.
It’s gonna be worse tomorrow, our demon armor is getting nerfed from 275% armor down to 125% armor I believe. Gonna be harder to survive against melee, it’s hard enough to get spells off as it is and we’re as slow as turtles. It’s ridiculous.
Don’t worry your biggest defensive is still the leech, not the armor. And if you only can think of 2 ways to save yourself as a warlock you need to check up some stuff. You have shadowfury aoe/spammable fear on dr and mortal coil/infernal stun that works off the dr and you have your portals.
From what I’ve seen well played warlocks are very strong right now. You might just need to adapt and look at changing up your playstyle. I’m sure there’s plenty of warlocks on YouTube to watch.
“I played my first 4 hours of pvp ever and couldn’t win Locks need buffs”
My god dude. Your spec has spent the entire season being the premier choice for any composition by a landslide. I think you can afford to lose a little bit of your ridiculous amount of tankyness. Lets not remind the devs that your mastery also contributes to your tankyness and your damage passively healing you.
You need to practise.
This here proves to me you don’t actually know what you’re talking about
I admit I never paid much attention to PVP and don’t know the “correct way” to fight but, yes.
As of WM, most of my battles consist on being perma-stunned or being skill-locked. Sometimes, without aid, I simply cannot cast a single bolt during the whole “fight”. Before a cc finishes another one already started.
If I’m unwilling to fight I have no means of escape. No jumps or gap closers, no speed ups, no invinsibility, no nothing.
You could beat almost anything except for an unholy DK or WW (might have a chance against a WW) in a 1v1 currently. Just need to know what to press and when.
Only if you’re able to setup gateways and your demonic teleport in advance. Since warlocks actually have to plan out our escapes, and starting tommorow even that won’t matter because we won’t survive the opening stun from a ret or rogue after the armor nerf.
Destro warlocks are a god class in PVP atm with cooldowns ;p. Tomarrow not so much. It just requires the right stats (tons of mastery) and azerite traits.
You need 3 flashpoints traits for super fast CC and Chaos bolts. Chaotic Inferno is great but so is Crashing Chaos. Make sure you use focus Chaos pvp talent and whatever else you feel like using.
If you are running with a healer just stand in the middle of the map and CC the world till you can set up a good nuke.
Its not fun to play. We all know. Its also not fun to play against either but if you can handle the annoying part of not being able to play your class 90% of the match. The 10% you can you blow up the world.
In the arena tournements that have been going on…warlocks are the most played DPS class. Easily.
Its rare to see any team NOT using a warlock.
Not only that, after tomorrow’ patch whenever a ret paladin pops wings their first templar’s verdict has a 100% crit chance. That buff was completely unnecessary.
I tried to pvp as demo Omg that was hard lol. I hate that you need to farm gear just to be any sort of viable. I miss Legion pvp. The good thing though in overwatch you dont need to farm gear. Starting to pvp on a demo lock just feels bad.
I think it’s more an afterthough of what they said before, dps cooldown that take a gcd should be more impactful as soon as you use them because they take that gcd.
Making it crit on the first hit is also not that great of a buff when most of them are playing Crusade in pvp.
fact check!
shadowfury has a cast time
fear has a cast time
mortal coil is instant, but requires talent AND can be trinketed.
infernal stun has a long cd.
portal has a cast time and shows where ur gonan go.
teleport is similar.
more stuns/interrupts/silences and fact that melee can walkTHROUGH you right b4 cast finishes and LoS it.
warlocks are turrets who get traiend and it is ez to negate their spells by walking throguh them.
try it.
What people often stupidly assume is every warlock plays the same and only spec seen in high rated/significantly successful arena, aka destruction. So to these people, they see a well played destruction warlock and then want to nerf ALL locks in PvP. It’s a sad state the game is in.
Also, any DKs or rogues unable to beat warlocks, ya’all need to tune up your skills.
You could do that with every classes. It’s not because you can get countered that it makes those less of a threat. Just let one chaos bolt go or 2 during infernal and it’s game over.
Yeah melees been annoying as hell since Legion. Spammable interrupts, instant reliable CC, gap closers galore, move speed. I haven’t touched casual BGs on my lock most of this expansion.
Let off one chaos bolt? You honestly think melee with a 3 second CD on interrupts, CCs, etc is gonna let that happen? LOL
There’s a thing called fake casting that most casters do to bait an interrupt, or you can get interrupt on your fear/stun to place a chaos bolt after.
I understand that playing a caster might require more knowledge of the game versus a melee and if you feel that you might be more capable as a melee you can play one nothing stops you.
That’s too bad, they are pretty fun.
