Have gem proc rates been changed on Rich Thorium Veins? I had a few days here and there where I did not get any or maybe just 1 after farming for hours, but since P2 started, the proc rates have been super low.
I no it’s only anecdotal, but today for instance, I hit RTV’s 56 times and got 4 gem procs. 1 blue saph and 3 star ruby’s. I have been farming a few hours every day for months and since P2, it just seems like gem proc rates have been down. Was there a blue post about this? Anyone else notice anything?
I have guildies who swear the same, but obviously it’s not something that can be easily quantified short of a blue post, which will never come.
Personally, I have done at least 50 DME jump runs since P2, and gotten all of 1 Arcane Crystal out of it, which seems off. But RNG could very well be RNG.
Random is random. I farm the crystal regularly and all I have to say is sometimes I will get a crystal every hour, sometimes more than one, sometimes none.
Yeah I’ve gotten one arcane crystal in classic so far. The % is completely bunk, which partly explains why prices are so high. Going mining was a mistake, shoulda gone herb.
I’ve gotten 1 since Honor drop, but prior to that, I must have gotten dozens, since I crafted at least 2 Lionheart Helms and donated many more to the guild’s first Hand of Rag.
I think the reason why people are suspecting a shadow nerf to the drop rate is precisely because that drops were fairly consistent up until recently.
The arcane gems have always been a nightmare. I don’t see any reason why they would change that now. There was just the illusion of higher drop rates when people could fly to the nodes, or when everyone had epic mounts.
Yeah I guess I’ll go herb now then. The drop rates were always garbage for me in classic. I’ve been finding it very difficult to find rich thorium veins out in the world, but even then, I should have gotten more than one. Haven’t been counting, but I’ve spent many hours in the yeti caves…
Ah. See, world farming is a bust, especially with populations the way they are in Classic.
DM:E jump runs is the fastest thorium farm you can feasibly find outside of really weird hours like 4 AM server, etc.
Every run (takes less than 10 minutes) guarantees anywhere between 2-3 Rich Thorium nodes after the last boss. Very easy to mine 10-15 veins per hour this way, which is a much harder proposition out in the world.
Precisely this. I’m not saying “whaaa I havnt gotten an arcane crystal since P2 PvP launched.” The past few weeks, though, it seems the gem proc rates for All of the gems out of RTV seem waaaay lower than before. I’ve been mining consistently for months and it has been consistent up until World PvP hit. just wanting to see if anyone else had the same thing.
Opposite experience here. Farmed 50+ nodes for my first arcane crystal a few weeks ago and had ZERO other gem drops. The node that dropped the AC did have an azerothian diamond though.
Got 2 in a row yesterday. Also I’ve gotten many more blue sapphires recently.
