Rezan dodged a bullet

Doesn’t fit Ashamane. She wasn’t killed by her followers, and she had the same level of dedication that the other Ancients did. There is no ancient who night elves venerate that would stay in Ardenweald. At the very least? They’d go to the Emerald Dream for a few thousand years, which is exactly what Ursoc did.

In the story they’re the same thing. In the setting, they’re absolutely not. Horde loses characters left and right. Alliance gains characters, gains power for those characters, and both left and right. I don’t want to sacrifice a Horde character to make the Alliance better. That’s what we’re doing. Night Elf Wild Gods only favor the Alliance. They almost exclusively favor Night Elves.

If that’s what favouring them looks like I’d hate to see what wild gods do to those they don’t like. The last time they even got involved was the Firelands assault on Hyjal, a completely neutral affair.

To be fair, blizzard seems to forget they arent all dead LOL. Chronicles 3 was written as if they didn’t remember they were dead until Cata, and everything after Cata avoids mentioning them if possible. Cenarius legit did nothing after 4.2 until Legion. Where he got corrupted without being able to do anything about it, when old nightmare couldn’t even do that lmao. The Ancients favoring the night elves would mean something if blizzard ever actually remembered all the things that would help night elves lol.

We don’t even see Cenarius in Stormrage so we have no idea if the Nightmare was incapable of it. It definitely corrupted his son Remulos at the least!

Stormrage Nightmare could corrupt everything equally effectively, Remulos was caught when looking for Malfurion iirc. But Remulos was actively in the Dream when that happened. Cenarius is more than just a Wild God, he’s also the offspring of a goddess Shadowlands is saying has some incredible amount of cosmic influence, and people who read the books know she’s already pretty powerful before that lore. Cenarius would not be essentially comatose for the entire questline, and suddenly teleported away after being corrupted. Ursoc had to be physically approached by Xavius in the Druid artifact questline to be corrupted. If blizzard actually cared about Cenarius as a part of this universe, he wouldn’t have only appeared to do nothing. After being inactive for years since Cataclysm, as if he and the other ancients were still dead.
