Oh it’s not the “older” demographic. It’s the uninformed demographic. The people who have no idea the things that have happened in warcraft lore. And when it pops up, they’re surprised.

I agree. Current Warcraft in general and Warcraft in the early more lore focused years are very different. That was kind of my point.
We live in a fantasy world where old gods can warp some poor farmers brain in an instant and make him start murdering everyone around him gruesomely with no reason….… uhm

Are you going to go on a crusade to have caverns of time instances removed? It’s very much in line with how we interact with the Bronze flight.

Eh. It preserves the timeline so it’s whatever to me.
I’m part of the older demographic who really, REALLY cares about the story and lore, but this particular point in WoW history was…brutal. The fact that it happened actually makes me uncomfortable to think about. And I don’t shy away from brutality easily.
There are just certain things that don’t need to be shown or told more than once, in my opinion. This is one of them. Us lore nerds got the original picture in all of its horrifying details. Now we are seeing another side of it first-hand. That’s the best way forward with this specific event, in my opinion.

Then retcon it so that Alexstraza was always a willing member of the Horde, and have the quest be where we go and set up their alliance.

No cause that lore is fine how it is cause it was written in a time when Blizzard actually seemed to handle these topics with more maturity and seriousness unlike now.
No but we’re going to make sure she will be as is intended in canon.

What maturity and seriousness? More like people cared less about these things.
Oh and, need to retcon Wrathion cause his upbringing is messed up.
