Rework Warrior DPS Scarlet Enclave Tier Bonuses

The hunter 6-set from the scarlet tier lets multi-shot hit 2 additional targets and increases the damage dealt by 75%.

The paladin 2-set increases their holy damage by up to 60%. The 4 set increases their aoe damage by a further 300%. Their 6 set increases their overall attack power by up to 30%.

We’re allowed to ask for more than scraps.

The Paladin bonuses do stand out. All 3 straight damage increases. Not saying change the Paladin ones but give us the juice to compete, too!

You get a weapon 2-piece set bonus that makes the attack that cleave do 200% weapon damage against a single target and 150% weapon damage against two targets if you have your 2pc T3.5 . Maybe I’m missing something, but that seems good to me.

It’s 50% per unused bounce, with the 3.5 2-set its 2 potential bounces, so 100%. And its not 200% weapon damage, it’s 200% cleave damage which is (weapon damage + cleave damage)*2

You are also forced to use two 2.1aspeed daggers with low top-end damage to achieve this set bonus. It’s probably good to assume it ‘balances out’ as average until we have the hard numbers.

yeah, you’re missing something, this post is referencing tier sets, what bonus we get from the daggers is irrelevant to what we’re talking talking about. Also, what Cimno said, the top end damage is so low that it’s going to balance out or potentially even lower then using two slow weapons.

Okay, so you’ve seen it. So you know you don’t have the right to doom.

It’s not, at all. Because bonuses interact with each other. Mage 2-pc T3.5 literally does nothing unless you have 2-pc T3, but if you do it does something which is why it’s a bonus, because that interaction exists.

I dunno to me feels like Warriors are eating good.

Warrior is not “eating good” if you compare it to what some other classes are getting in their tier bonuses. That’s what this entire thread was about, so trying to bring up something unrelated to the original topic is simply derailing why this post exists.
Even if some weapon sets are good, I don’t think it’s fair that Warrior simply gets mid tier bonuses because “Weapon sets are good” and you shouldn’t be required to grab those as well as tier to be competitive.
You’re just adding more hoops for a Warrior to jump through to stay relevant.

To any dev looking through this thread. Please increase the warrior trade window slot number soo i can give away my stuff faster when i reroll paladin cause thats clearly the only supported melee class

The entire idea of a AoE focused tier set is flawed from the start, unless every boss fight in the Scarlet raid is a fight with 3+ targets. I’m sure one fight will be cleave based, so we can carry this set around to use on that one fight, while we go back to old sets for every other fight in there. Super fun.

It’s not flawed in the slightest, Warriors have been requesting better AoE for quite some time. It’s the ideas they’re putting forward that requires some work is all.

I love having 0 bag space and being useless outside of raid

I love being balanced around world buffs and a raid enviroment

I love being super weak in openworld

I love having only 2 talent trees, which are barely supported

I love my capstone abilities hitting for nothing

I love having no burst

I love having no sustain

I love struggling with more than 1 mob or elites while wearing current BiS

I love being paper despite wearing plate

I love warrior cleave being capped at 2 and ww capped at 4 while everyone else is capped at 10 or uncapped

I love requiring alpha to tank or else its impossible to hold aggro

I love being free honor with a nametag

I love raid logging cause i cant do any openworld activities

I love not being able to farm anything (be it cause bots, pvp competition or cause of how weak the class is)

I love being a warrior

Yes we need better AoE, but putting that into a set bonus is an awful idea. We need to rely less on set bonuses to get us where we need to be. We need actual class changes instead, not band-aid fixes from gear.

I would prefer we had a set that performs on Cleave and isn’t a hinderance on Single Target (which is what I have presented in the first place).
There is no realistic place to make adjustments for Warrior AoE currently outside of tier bonuses, or adding additional targets to cleave. You could uncap Whirlwind or add additional targets but there is a good chance that would be problematic as well.

Better than Priest. Priest basically has a bunch of useless garbage. All of the Warrior bonuses are useful and play nice with the new toys you’re getting.

Unfortunately, none of these are changing.

You’re better off than Mages, who do almost literally zero AE DPS at this point time in Naxx because mobs don’t live long enough.

Well then the priests should be making posts to get their bonuses buffed as well (I realized Momo made quite a comprehensive post after writing this and I’m glad they are getting traction as well). I simply spent the time to create a set that does well in AoE and Single Target with aspects of warrior that are in other versions of the game.
The 2 Piece is inspired by Bonelink Fetish from Cataclysm, and the 4 Piece is inspired by how Retail’s Whirlwind interacts with Meat Cleaver.
So the logic of how it works is there, they just simply need to implement it in some form.

Tier seems to be Aoe centric, The design goal May be focus on our aoe due to the next raid just having a lot of 2-3 target fights (wcl please stop excluding damage), I would like to repaint the idea of a warrior being a bay blade of death, while also empowering our singletarget.

2 set: Echos of hell
Your Deep wounds tick now damage all targets around it (think like living bomb, aoe pulse every 3 seconds numbers can be tuned up or down if 2 week or 2 strong, remember warrior is capped at 2 and 4 targets

4 set: Reverberation of the dammed
Targets effected by your deep wounds are weakened, making it easier to strike them, Bloodthirst/Slam/Mortal strike now echo to all targets effected by your deep wounds. (can Tune damage, can be 100% can be 25% whatever works, opens up a few trinket options on some fights, like swarm guard.) This also doubles as a singletarget damage inc as your bt will now hit your primary target twice

6 set: Soul cleaver
When you cast cleave or Heroic strike, you cast whirlwind, when you cast whirlwind, you cast rend, and refresh rend on any target with it applied.

Mostly a qol tier set. Whirlwind is very weak right now. Its a lower prio then our instant proc slam, and is even delayed for our slam, having it auto cast can be a fun way to feed both a single target and an aoe damage inc, while staying thematic to the aoe angle this set seems to be, It also fixes the clunk of having to apply rend due to sanguinis, and having it spread while in an aoe pull gives us a boost, due to not having to spend globals on rend. It doesnt have to be at 100% power it can be at 25% or whatever tuning feels apropriate.

I know not all these ideas are winners, but i hope this can provide some ideas for how the set can be changed while keeping its cleave centric nature. I think expelled ideas are good, i just want to put forth some more ideas, and i hope it inspires the community to come forth with there own vision of what a warrior this tier should play/feel like.
