Revive Pet Cannot be a 6 second cast in PvP

Four seconds is too long, just leave it be.

four seconds is NOT good enough!

You’re all right, as I stated it was a change in the right direction, but I recanted that it’s at least crack a beer worthy.

It’s still dumb. Without any reasoning they shouldn’t be touching this without adequate pet buffs.

I’m honestly more annoyed at them doing this big nerf without explaining us their reasoning at all than by them doing the actual nerf itself.

Like, at least tell us the logic of it so we can try and understand instead of staying quiet and making us think the balance team is simply insane!

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Well, this IS something which they are good at🙄

I would like to play a hunter alt for pvp fun, but the idea of going into an arena, having my pet killed and then the team sitting on me for the rest of the game so I can’t get a 4 second pet revive off (which if I’m playing survival or BM would completely gimp my class) is absolutely insane. Blizzard think this is fine?

And revive pet can be interrupted so 6 seconds can become 10+

Ya this 6 sec revive on pets is the dumbest change to hunters in a long time! For BM the pet IS our weapon! so not only can our weapon be killed, sometimes pretty easily, but now it takes 6 sec to get it back, while that 6 sec can also be INTERUPTED! how many other classes can be disarmed or loose their weapon like that & for so long? its pretty dumb.

It was changed to 4 seconds on PTR.

lol still too long. unless I can disarm a warrior/dk/pally/dh ect for 4 sec and interrupt him from getting it back in arena I won’t be happy lmao

Okay then just enjoy not being happy.

I think you answered your own question.

Me, 8 months ago.

Since I posted this, they had to bring it down to a 4 second cast and Shadowlands relased, in which Beast Mastery and Survival are two of the least-played specs in the game due to the low survivability of their pets.

Today, Blizzard is stepping in once again, reducing the damage done to Hunter pets by 20%. This will likely not be enough to save BM and SV, but its something. The point is we had people swearing up and down that we would be fine with a 6 second res time and NO compensation. Here we are after the expansion releases and those specs are screwed with a 4 second cast and now some added mitigation to pets.

So yet again I, and many others on this forum, make a dire prediction for hunter PvP, we get people swearing up and down that we’re just over reacting, and eventually the situation proves to be even worse than we predicted. It happened in 7.2.5 and 8.0, and now we can add 9.0 to that. How many times will people fall for this? How many times do you have to get burned by this company before you realise your faith in them was misplaced?

I realise many in this thread in fact want Hunters to be bad in PvP so these probably aren’t the right questions to ask, but I’m sure at least some here thought it wouldn’t be so bad.

Now let’s ping some of those people who defended the change and see what they think about it now:

posted in August 2020,

Many things have changed. Hunter pets are just way too soft.

Ps yes the game needs to be reverted to at least 5.4, but I would preference 5.2/5.3 or 2.4, or 3.5.

Tbh I think you should’ve made a new thread.

But I agree with what you said

By now, even an instant pet rez without CD wouldnt bring BM even close to viability.

Wow this post didn’t age well. OP said we wouldn’t be able to get a pet res off. Guess he didn’t think ahead to a meta where we have to use our 3 minute semi-sorta-immunity defensive cooldown just to get a res off. Short sighted much?

Seems like OP was spot on.

What are you talking about?
