Revised TWW cinematic

I used chatgpt to revise the cinematic in a way that I think tells his story better, and retains his manhood. If the cinematic was this, I think the criticism would have been much less and it would have received better than what we got. Anduins problem as a character stem from his abandoning of his duty as king, and us not actually seeing what he is going through. This version solves both. Men will cope in this manner and it is quite tragic, but he still retains his honor this way.

Screenplay: “The War Within”

Scene 1: Return to Stormwind

EXT. STORMWIND CITY - DAY

ANDUIN, in his king’s armor and lion’s head helmet, rides into Stormwind. The city is alive with cheering citizens.

He rides towards the castle, expression unreadable under his helmet.

Scene 2: Anduin’s Solitude

INT. STORMWIND THRONE ROOM - DAY

Anduin walks past the throne, silently. He removes his helmet, roughly placing it onto a table

CUT TO:

INT. ANDUIN’S QUARTERS - NIGHT

Anduin, alone, drunkenly tosses bottles out of his chambers

ANDUIN (shouting) More!

The SENIOR GUARD, grizzled and concerned, hesitates outside the door.

Scene 3: Anduin’s Torment

INT. ANDUIN’S QUARTERS - NIGHT

Anduin, now asleep, is restless. His face contorts with the pain of his nightmares.

IN DREAM:

Visions of the Lich King, Arthas, the purging of stratholme, interweave with Anduin’s own memories. Shot in first person as if Anduin is constantly reliving the lich kings life, due to what happened in shadowlands. Is part of Arthas’s soul residing in Anduins?

ANDUIN (in dream, distressed) No… NO…

VOICE OF AZEROTH (ethereal, echoing) Anduin…Hear me!

The dream shifts to a glowing ball of Azerite energy at the world’s center.

Scene 4: A New Quest

INT. ANDUIN’S QUARTERS - MORNING

Awakened and determined, Anduin dons his armor and a desert cloak.

ANDUIN (resolute) Silithus.

His mages open a portal.

Scene 5: Meeting with Thrall

EXT. SILITHUS - DAY

Anduin steps through the portal. THRALL awaits him, equally grave.

Cinematic continues as in the original version.

I don’t remember taking Anduin to the vet. What SL campaign was that in?

i like it but they wouldnt wanna show alcohol in a less than positive light as its treated jokingly everywhere else, including dwarves, drunken pirates in freehold, and even the mop cinematic where an orc and human get drunk in a tavern together. the idea someone in emotional distress would drown their sorrows in alcohol is too negative for the topic. its too realistic, if you will.

They turned Anduin into a dead beat who ran out on his kingdom. The least they could do would be to have him cope in a way that’s highly common among men while still doing his duty. Most of the military in the alliance would have hard-core ptsd yet they still man their posts.

Did Bob Barker get to him?

very well done.

And then he walks into the throne room, just as his father was happy to see him, he was readying his blade to overtake the monatch for sending their men to die in the fridged cold.

Oh wait, that’s not the-- Flips the pages. Huh.

Contiune.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Ahh Yes. Anduin is now a drunk.

I legit had no idea when writing that first part when it came to this.

Now THAT’s an interesting idea.

That’s what ya get for disenchanting his soul for 35 anima anduin. Arthas is coming to get ya now.

All and all, kind of interesting, if only a little short on the details here.

It’s still 1000000% better than everything in Dragon tales…

I feel like most of the criticism for the cinematic comes from an outspoken minority. I found it awesome and don’t think it needs fixing. Blizz could have done exactly what you suggest and people would still be critical.

Feelings and facts.

OG TWW cinematic has 2.87 million views and 85k likes so around 2-3% view to like ratio.
The comedic TWW cinematic has 38,619 views and 6.9k likes, a healthy 17% view to like ratio.

It’s pretty fair to say the comedic one was liked more than the OG one. Most people probably don’t even know the comedic one exists.

That’s what I’m trying to find out !!!

you and chatgpt are both wrong. Its hilarious that people who think Blizzards writing is bad think this is an improvment.

Good grief what is it with folks and the whole “manhood” bit?!

A video with 38k views is more liked than one with 2.87 million? Feelings and facts indeed.

. . . what is this weird obsession with Anduin’s manhood? Like “oh no, he cried, alert the authorities.” Seriously I don’t see the issue.

He’s the king.

And the actions blizzard has made him take make him dishonorable and despicable.

How many of his soldiers have ptsd and trauma? Do they leave their duty and go soul searching? Do they leave their families and the people that count on them?

By abandoning his throne he loses what makes him a man worthy of respect. His duty is bigger and more important than any of his trauma and he should cope as men have coped for centuries.

It has nothing to do with him crying, it has to do with him being a dead beat and that we also have not been shown what is haunting him.
