Revert unholy back to WotLK

I would like my unholy spec to have the following plz

Big damage Scourge strikes
Me dying and turning into a ghoul
People fearing me
No pimple popping
Big damage scourge strikes
Only 2 peta
UNHOLY PRESENCE

If they did that, my rotation would say this changes everything ABANDON CLASS!

Your rotation would actually do damage and not just your cooldowns

You could also grave yard camp half a team of players

Oh on second thoughts. Yeah that would be nice as I’m literally a mini lich king.

that lasted all of 24 hours.

the initial rework of SS splitting it into a physical and shadow two part split worked by having the shadow portion mimic the physical portion.

DKs crit for 200% and the shadow portion could crit on its own.

so if your physical crit for 5k, your shadow could crit for 10k.

this was fine on the PTR and was really fun, then it went live and someone crit the shadow portion for 124k on Twin Valks and blizz said “Oh :poop:” and removed the ability for the shadow portion to crit, and that was the end of big scourge strikes.

I said big scourge strikes not insane ones

However if they’re willing to bring that back I’m down

I’ll just take that 100% shadow damage scourge strike back that does more damage than a slight tickle

Oh yeah and unholy presences

Yeah you obviously didn’t play wrath… stuff was busted for a while.

You know, I am not opposed to this. Ideally we’d have a talent system that would allow us to play the kind of unholy we wanted. Instead there is only one real choice.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Wrath gameplay is incredibly boring compared to how it is now. Scourge Strike was spammed on cooldown. Blood runes were spammed on cooldown. If you were doing anything else, you were an idiot. Right now the core rotation requires weaving, RNG interaction, and setups, which make it pretty much universally more appealing than Wrath’s kit, which had no interaction between spells on an active level at all.

No thank you. I really Unholy as is. Especially the pimple popping

You’re vastly over stating our rotations level of interesting

All we do now is pop pimples and wait for apoc to carry us from dead wizard procs

The only slightly interesting mechanic is festermight

for real, you had 0 gaps in your rotation.

this was the “skill factor” of dw frost in 3.3, you needed to play your rotation and use your pestilence and blood tap macro to pop a free rune and refresh your dots. mess up one thing, miss one GCD, and you would screw up that dot refresh, this would mean you were stuck waiting 10s for your frost and unholy runes to come back so you could hit icey touch and plague strike.

modern DK even at its worst is a masterpiece by comparison.

You mean frost spec currently where most the damage is funnelled to BoS and if you get a mechanic your dps takes a nose dive?

Also the kills on that account is impressive

i can’t really comment because 3.3 is the last time i seriously played frost.

You’re overestimating how many spells with actual interactions were in the game at the time. The entire class from that point in time is documented.

The entire class was rune locked and spammy af.

The old version of the game is very, very, very well documented. It’s not hard to get a very, very detailed picture of how it used to play on patch 3.3.5.

most specs were fairly boring and uninteresting until at least cata. my favorite iteration was probably MoP. i’d take current unholy over wrath unholy, but i’d be very happy to see the MoP playstyle return (which is extremely unlikely to ever happen sadly)

I could take or leave the others, but damn these two really need to be a thing. Number 2 especially. God, I hate the wounds mechanics.

The ultimate irony is that Unholy DK does its peak damage by summoning a Mage. If that doesn’t describe game balance, idk what does.

Yes I did NOT play wrath.

nah revert everyone back to MoP class designs.
