Revert the layer change NOW

  • With a hotfix tomorrow we will no longer be dynamically retiring layers. This means that late at night or early in the morning there will be more layers than are needed and the world may feel more empty."

currently playing on chaos bolt, i can count less than 10 horde in org, server had a great healthy feeling game world and population, but now the game world is completely dead with one blue post, hell with ashenvale this ruins every other aspect of the game

I feel you are exxagerating. My server has tons of people 24/7 every layer.

You cant even hardly quest unless its like 3am.

Im all for dynamic layering, but we dont need it to change any time soon on my server at least

yes “your server” my server is medium pop, and nows has too many layers, thats the point of the post, and im not exxagerating, log on and run to a city on chaos bolt, this change wasnt meant for a normal sized realm

Chaos Bolt is dead dog. I hate to be the one to tell you.

First server death of SOD due to mismanagement.

It would have succeeded if devs launched it sooner, but those few hours ended up being the death knell. People were already on CS and were afraid to leave. They’d have had more confidence to leave if CB were available earlier.

GG CB DOA.

It was a terrible change, I went from seeing people literally everywhere in the world to it being a complete ghost town like I was leveling in retail again.

Agree.

Few days ago Id see people all over, it was amazing.

Last night it felt like I was playing on a low pop classic era realm that was nearly dead, barely saw anyone.

wut? I’m on Chaos Bolt and its never felt dead. Almost every ashenvale I’ve there are at least 3 full raids on both sides.

This is absolutely kill low pop servers. Yikes

Just a guess, but I feel like the system will attempt to return us to the oldest layer whenever we log off and log back in.

So on a dead server like Chaos Bolt, we’ll all filter back into the oldest layer together as we relog, but bots which are online for 12-16 hours straight will remain on their dead layers.

This is a good chance for those of us trying to complete solo content and can’t because there are dozen other people fighting for spawns.

yea this absolutely kills the vibe of the game. i 1000% agree ty for raising attension to this i didnt even know myself. id rather have this fixed first before hunter is given more build variety.

I was thinking the same thing last night stormwind was a complete ghost town. I wasn’t sure if it was the beginning of a dead server or what but this explains it. I hadn’t ever seen it so dead before it felt really bad… Please don’t do this to us on chaos bolt blizzard

This is a single player online game with occasional NPC (bots) pretending to be players to be more engaging experience.

Gg blizz. Im going back to private servers

Chaos bolt players need to unite together against this change now before it becomes the new norm

Seems like their mindset is “hey, let’s fix one issue and introduce an even bigger one - to everybody”.

My mind continues to be blown away by these types of decisions, by a company who’s been doing this for many years

I can confirm as playing around 6:30 am est there was no one in my layer. it was kinda sad I was really digging the life all around me.

Not dead at all brother

It isn’t even worth posting a screenshot of /who or the area right in front of the gates; there’s even foot traffic in front of the Cleft of Shadows and through the northeast and southwest ends of the city. Maybe you got onto a cursed layer, but ignore concern trolling - the server population is extremely healthy.

Server Population =/= Active layers

I can confirm that OP was not exaggerating, even on the mega pop streamer server Crusader Strike population feels like a shadow of its former self.

I was in Stormwind this afternoon and I saw maybe 10-15 people in the auction house.

Last week it was a mosh pit.
