Revert the "ban" on boosting communities

I quit being a guide within a few minutes because of this. I’ve also seen videos where new players are greeted to RMT spam in the Exile’s Reach boat cutscene.

The ones who followed the rules weren’t doing this. Pushing out those who followed the rules only made a huge void that the rulebreakers filled. Now we’re left with a mess.

There wasn’t a ban just rules put in place so all the people smart enough to not trust a dodgy 3rd party service don’t have to deal with constant non stop spam from people trying to sell boosts.

This is what tends to happen when new rules are made instead of current ones enforced. It is what makes the bases of saying like “if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns”.

i report all boosting adds in trade/general/etc chat
has the nice side effect of putting them on ignore and erasing them from my chat log

Wait I thought selling boost and m+ and raid carries with gold is 100% allow and doesn’t violate blizzard ToS?

Lol you really think players from liquid , echo or method is going post on trade to sell carries ?

Lol you wrong. Blizzard specifically said selling carries vis on game gold is not against ToS. Why do you think blizzard start selling wow token. Surely it wasnt blizzard way to get a cut with the boosting community.

If blizzard don’t to support boosting your gold as you mentioned they can simply update the TOS to ban boosting with gold and stop selling wow token

How do you think whales get gold to buy boost. They buy wow token sell it for gold and use the gold for boost.

If blizzard wants to unsupport buy/sell carriers with gold just stop selling wow tokens

I read. “I have been boosting and now that someone else is doing it . I want it stopped. “Another poster was.” I already got my boosting done so now I am against it.” LOL . I am happy if i see anything in /trade on my server… it is so empty.

I hope one day Blizzard connects more realms together or offers free transfers. Time will tell.

The irony of this is that the main site that’s always advertising in group finder actually isn’t sketch at all and is pretty professional from what I’ve read/heard. My guildie who used them said that they had more issue in the past when they used the local “carry for gold” groups that are still allowed to advertise.

The reason bots exist is because games are designed with them in mind even though they don’t intend to be.

Case in point is how botted Diablo 2 was in its day. When a Zod rune is rarer than winning the lottery and is essential for BIS gear you are rewarding the bot mentality. The methods of obtaining one are similarly mindless. I love D2 but this is the truth.

WoW is full of similar grinds. People are also forking over money to get achievements and stuff that they otherwise would not be able to do on their own.

The game has to be redone to cater to people who play 8-10 hours a week. It’s that simple. You can’t get anywhere as a casual in this version of the game.

Of course that means people who play 40 hours a week lose out. I don’t care. They don’t carry the funding for a game like this.

Is funny how people think the top guilds don’t sell boost for gold. How do you think liquid comes up with 700+ million gold for last raid tier and 500+ million gold for this tier. I am sure echo method spend almost the same amount of gold as well. How do these teams make so much gold. By selling carries for m+, raids and pvp.

That’s one of the reason wfr is always these few guilds who will get a shot. The rest won’t even have a chance with the large amount of gold and also real money these team spend on. Some people do feel wfr is getting boring since you know it will either me liquid or echo and slight change method coz they have the deep pockets and players to sell carries playing the game 12 to 16 hours a day 7 days a week.

In fact these teams charges more for carriers since a pro is carrying you.

No, the ban did what it was supposed to do; limit the scope of advertisements.

Boosting communities still exist and thrive, even as pure gold.

Ive noticed this as well, i get 0 notifications for chat reports resulting in account action now when i used to get them all the time, still getting notifications for bot reports that result in account action though

No, if you boost it is cheating. Keep cheating banned please. And of course the services are sketchy… This surprises you? Just another reason not to cheat.

There are two issues with these sentences:

  1. Purchasing a boost is not cheating, unless done so with RMT. Purchasing boosts with gold is not against the rules. In fact, there’s a separate in-game chat channel for these sorts of things.

  2. I agree that cheating should remain banned, but if you’re including allowable boosting in that, then you may want to rethink that statement.

This is consistent with the suggestion we often see that customers for such services should be penalized, while sellers should be allowed to continue and keep their money.

Better solution: Ban the trade advertisements.

I meant what I said… Paying someone else to run you through content you can’t or won’t do yourself is cheating and causes countless problems in the game.

I don’t care if you use gold which you can just buy with RMT anyway as blizzard gave up on supporting the game and became gold sellers themselves using the token… Just because blizzard does not care enough to actually support their own game does not make it fine.

For example in a popular FPS named Hunt Showdown it is not against the rules to use this addon named shader, you can use this to zoom in with iron sights turning revolvers into sniper rifles and reshade the game so you can see bright purple outlines of enemy players allowing you to see them through fog, smoke nades, darkness, bushes/shrubbery etc… It is cheating. Everyone knows it is cheating, and people doing using the excuse if it’s not against the rules… Are still scum bag cheaters.

Cheaters will make excuses till the day they die why what they are doing is fine… Being a scumbag is being a scumbag though, no matter what the rules say and deep down everyone knows it. Just a matter of if they are comfortable enough with themselves to admit what they are doing is wrong or not.

Only under the conditions Blizzard has set forth. Cheating is entirely based upon the rules of the game. The rules of WoW allow people to purchase carries with gold. In fact, they can get carried entirely free of charge as well.

If something’s not against the rules, then it’s not cheating.
