All my quests are level 60 but my followers are not even 30, you’ll get a ton of players not being able to complete missions at all.
Oh no, what a tragedy.
This post brought to you by Kyrian and Venthyr players.
Yeah, honestly, these Trapper nerfs seem incredibly shortsighted.
Players that abused Trappers early on basically bricked themselves for however long it takes until Blizzard adds XP missions to the table for players that have reached a certain stage in the table campaign.
The Kyrian and Venthyr tables were unacceptably bad originally, but it’s unfair to brick players of another Covenant because the aforementioned two Covenants were bricked for so long.
I mean maybe yours should have gotten buffed instead of others getting nerfs.
Kyrian/Venthyr areas bathe in sadness apparently for Missions, brining other covenants down just kills the fun of others. Misery loves company I suppose
They did get buffed. The only nerf was the ridiculously OP Night Fae trappers. If you dont think they were OP, just reread the the top post. “My missions are all level 60 but my followers arent even level 30!”
Very balanced!
You still get xp if the followers die. Might have to just eat it until your followers are the correct level now that the missions cannot be cheesed.
Haha doesn’t taste so nice does it
If you’re failing missions as Kryian and Venthyr then you also leveled your campaign mission too far. Just because night fae went further doesn’t mean you didn’t do the same stuff. You just whined so hard it worked.
The issue with NF isn’t that we should need OP troops to survive.
It’s that mission table scaling is ridiculously stupid. What’s the point of giving us new followers if we don’t have any missions to actually catch them up once we’ve finished the mission table “campaign”? Are they just gunna be useless unless we suicide them on a bunch of missions?
The only thing that makes NF unique in this regard is that because of how busted Trappers were, we ran into this issue before other Covenants.
Rip, imagine abusing something that was obviously broken (and is still stronger than all other covenants) and then complaining about it.
They are still ridiculously strong even. Honestly not even sure if the nerf even worked.
From testing my trappers still keep the damage reduction debuff active permanently (it’s supposed to be every other turn after it deals damage apparently).
The fact that people abused the heck out of it and now claim “we didn’t know that it wasn’t intended” is honestly hilarious.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me but my lvl 28 and 29 followers can’t complete the lvl 24 campaign mission.
This is proof that no one knows not to level the campaign mission EVEN IN non-night fae covenants. It’s screwing everyone over, it just happened to screw NF harder. The only issue is ppl in other covenants don’t want to admit that’s the reason they’re failing their missions and not because “NF OP”. They have nothing to do with each other.
My paladin is kryian and I have beat every single soul ash mission given to me. Because I didn’t over level my campaign mission, because I learned from the first time the hard way.
I just don’t get why non NF covenants take our early success as an attack on their abilities or something stupid like that. Grow up. (not talking to you Creeli mainly to the ppl that are sticking their noses up at NF like we did something wrong to them)
This is a much better point on the whole mission table debacle. It’s the same for all covenants, why are there breakpoints where you just don’t get xp missions? Why do you lose access to lower level missions when you continue to acquire lower level companions?
Feels poor when you have access to ~lvl 40 missions, you get one xp quest every 2 days, and you can’t afford to send your low level companions on it because you require all your higher level companions to be on it just to succeed.
Seems like bad practice where the best way to play it seems to be pushing the table to the 20s but not far enough that you lose the lower level quests so that you can just grind the 4 available xp quests you then have access to.
Yeah, I bricked my mission table on my Warlock ages ago and I basically succeed in maybe like 10% of my missions that weren’t Dreamweaver + Trapper cheese, so all I do for my mission tables is select the missions with the best XP to time ratio and suicide my followers over and over and over.
Which in classic poor design taste requires an addon to show base xp gain and then is still an absolute waste of anima.
Which basically means it’s unfeasible for someone who isn’t actively playing their characters and grinding anima.
Because Night Fae had an incredibly broken ability on their troop type that only costs an additional 4 anima (1 per troop) to implement in any given mission.
You can’t possibly tell me that Night Fae clearing level 60 elite missions as early as troop/companion level 30 was intended.
(Meanwhile, Venthyr and Kyrian were struggling to complete level 20 elite missions with level 25-30 companions/troops.)
Agree on the first half. The mission table is stupid unintuitive without addons like Venture Plan.
As for the second half, even my Warlocks mission table is sustained pretty easily by just the 1k anima weekly. You just gotta ignore the bait of actually healing your followers since that’s a ton of anima for no direct gain.
My alt druid does far better since its characters can actually beat the missions at their level.
Yeah but that means you have to do the 1k anima quest lol.
What I mean is it doesn’t become self sufficient if you push it and have to just sacrifice your characters.
At the moment my less played alts simply do the low level anima quests which sustains (and gains) those characters anima.
So by the time I get around to playing them properly they will have decent anima stores and their companions will be reasonably up to date.
So I basically do the xp quests available to level them, each of the anima quests, and then if I have companions left over I do the gold ones. And I haven’t had to do a single WQ or anima grind on those characters.
I just occasionally do the WB if I feel like it.
I never cheesed the table, and the nerf is still going to hit harder than necessary.
But then again, I’m not hugely worried about it, I’ll likely just stop playing the daft table altogether and ignore it like a lot of other “new” features in SL.
And now you realize the reason you struggled to complete level 20 elite missions with level 25-30 is because you also leveled your campaign mission too fast. Just like us. But you’re still getting buffs.
