If you’re coming by this post - hopefully it’s because you know what they are.
Haunted mementos have been a huge part of the nostalgia in wow for me. A lot of people have no idea what they are, or what they do anymore and it’s kind of sad 
I have attempted selling a couple on my server and been labeled as a scammer for advertising a “white labeled” item as well as being reported.
Personally, I feel like blizzard needs to revert the limited timer change and bring back the permanent effect of it. (It literally has no impact on the game in doing so)
So please blizzard, revert the effect. For the sake of us who have them and know what they do, bring back the unlimited effect.

Never got one myself, i was always jealous of those who did have them. Not enough to figure out how to get them, though lol.

So they were removed from the game! I’ve passed them out more than I’ve purchased recently. I’ve got a few! If you ever find yourself on Kil’jaedan, I’ll give you one!
Just really wish they would bring back the effect that they had when they were permanent the entire time instead of a 10 second time every 3-5 minutes

I thought that it was changed because it was the #1 source of spawns or something.

Yep. They didn’t clarify specifically why but my guess was players traveling got it into the top spot. If you ere traveling any istance it’d keep despawning (then immediately respawning) since it was slower than anything but an RP walk. Plus, with flying you didn’t even need to be moving if you were high enough since it’d spawn, fall, despawn, and instantly respawn.

Reading in to it, it was changed in WoD due to the shadow covering NPC’s and those NPC’s being un-clickable.
There aren’t that many around anymore these days so it would be extremely nice to see it reverted.

If this was the issues, having it fixed would have been wayyyy better than the timer. Like potentially de-activating it upon mounting?

I won’t use mine anymore, because it does the stupid scared emote on my character. I miss my persistent shade.

I feel the same way 100% tho. I feel like it made my rogue.
I forgot this thing even existed. Would be nice to have both this and the Accursed Keepsake… anyway, I’m all for it… reverting the change.
sorry but no. the performance of the game is more important. if you absolutely need to have a ghost following you, there are plenty of pets that use the same model as the ghost does.

i keep a hold of mine tbh.
It might still create performance problems so no unless they fixed that.
I still have mine from back during the original event. It’s in the bank though. Does it still summon a ghost that follows you around? Or did they change that?
And in 2022 I’m sure they can find a way to have it permanent and not cause any sort of gameplay issues.

It does! The shade still spawns, it’s just on a restricted timer that procs and lasts about 10 sec

i still have one on my retail account and much rather the perma spawn vs. this 10sec version.
It’s stated in my previous comments if you’d read. Despawn when mounting - respawn when not mounted.
That would fix the constant despawn/respawn when flying that was caused previously.
As stated, we are in 2022– processors are updated, connections updated, hardware updated, servers updated.
