I don’t “pay” for micro transactions either, I just buy WoW tokens with gold if I want something from the shop.

I honestly don’t even do this, I still pay for gametime on a monthly bases.

If transfers are considered micro-transations I can’t say I have never paid for one.

Magical times. Good content, good story, meaningful progression, an excellent storyline. No IO BS, no stupid AP, no stupid artifacts, classes had charm, cool BG (wintergrasp…the first BG where people gave you alerts on when it was going to happen), trade was still strong, community was still strong, guild meant something and no idiotic mission table. It was an epoch for Blizz and instead of going with what they did best it slowly sunk into the gimmicky mess that it is today…RNG to death, queue ridden casino WOW…no wonder they cannot keep subs.

Would vanilla servers be locked with faction identity? No horde paladins, no alliance shamen? Would the server be stuck in just vanilla without adding expansions? Or just vanilla rule sets?

If you think a business monetizing financial opportunities since Day 1 of its inception is some Great Evil (and Blizzard has been. Even in “2010 - 2016”), then you need to pay more attention to an actual economics professor and less to a Bernie Sanders rally.

I took one of those courses back in college, I think. Been a bit. Anyways, such nice, technical words! Let’s call a spade a spade, all right? Business monetizing financial opportunities means “let’s make continue to make money by firing some people to save on unnecessary expense and announcing record profits.” Corporatespeak is an attempt to placate our moral sensibility about the sociopathic nature of modern business practices. And it’s worked. Too well.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no bernie sanders supporter or anything like that. I don’t see a need to “believe” in capitalism particularly as it functions quite fine without my belief, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be cynical about its current myopic focus on squeezing every single last cent out of something regardless of the cost. Or disapprove of that.

And I do. Mainly because it hurts people. I don’t care if they want to make money by fleecing us. But ruining people’s jobs? Nah, that’s over a line for me.

As if arbitrary cutoffs won’t be in classic. And you can’t lie if no IO stuff in play…no mogs. I can have a fresh 120 mogged to look 340 minimal. Slap on WF mogs earned by main. Now I look like 340…but I am actually 280 if not lower. Don’t check the numbers they will never now.

classic people will know your pink shoulders are the shoulders of some_rp_name. they are some level. Some level…below what they want. Or you have nice brown shoulders. And they actually want the pink ones. Go find some pink shoulders player X.

IO came about to automate this, level/gear snobbery is an age old thing. And MMO wide.

Classic comes with your active subscription to retail. And not to worry, Acti-Blizz will undoubtedly cram in additional forms of “recurrent monitezation” further infuriating their playerbase. They’ve got a new CFO that has to earn that 15 mil bonus after all. :+1:
