Revendreth Unplayable Since Patch

The zone is unplayable if you’re Venthyr.

Majority of the areas you have to visit for mirrors, dailies, etc. are loaded with this bug/glitch. The worst areas are the castle grounds, absolutely filled with these “black screens” and impossible to play in.

It also happens when you load into Ardenweald for a few seconds before you make it to the actual zone grounds.

Sample pictures in post below.

I’m Venthyr. I see what you’re saying is an issue in that thread, but I wouldn’t say it’s unplayable. I haven’t run into this issue at all since the launch of 9.0.5. I’ll try and see if I can get it to happen on an alt later for fun.

What is your graphics API set to, DX11 or DX12?

DX12 I think.

Bastion is far worse.

Weird, wonder if its video card/driver related.

Up to date drivers on a Vega 64 and no issues

Wife has old drivers (pre flickering) on a 1080 and no issues.

idk, I did 5 chapters of my class campaign in revendreth yesterday and didn’t have any problems.

pretty sure im DX11 but I’d have to log in to check. I have a 1070. looks like I’m one version behind on graphics drivers though. guess ill fix that.

Uh, I am Venthyr and haven’t noticed this at all.

I’m on an Nvidia GTX 1060, with rolled back drivers (457.51) since neither Nvidia or Blizzard seem to give a damn about fixing the massive flickering issues that started with the Cyperpunk driver update 3 months ago, DX12 enabled.

Watch this be another Nvidia related issue that will never get fixed sigh…

I had this happen to me on a floor in Boreghast once. Just reload my UI and it never happened again. Sounds like some weird driver issue.

My graphics card is almost bricked and I haven’t had this particular issue.

I did get the bug where you cant use some abilities in an lfr run on my shaman though. Can’t believe I didn’t get kicked for basically only being able to auto attack and cast crash lightning.

I’m Venthyr on an old Vega 56 4gb. Is there anything I can do to replicate your issue?

Haven’t had any problems but if you’re having issues maybe if there’s a method to it, it’ll be easier for the developers to address its

Just a thought, but years ago I had a graphics card fail, very likely due to heat/fan issues. It did some very weird things which I first thought were driver problems. (Then one day, it became unusable.)

I updated my nvidia drivers on my 1070 and got weird flickering, never black screens, but rolling it back fixed the issue for me.

I don’t know if OP has updated nvidia drivers but it could be the cause?

If you are on nvidia drivers then its a feature that was added for shadowlands :upside_down_face:

Gotta downgrade to 457.51 to get rid of this, its nvidia not blizz.

aw man, I switched to emulating windows to get a better nvidia driver, and now even the “netbook” nvidia thinks this is won’t have graphics? Wish I had the skills to try Linux.

Yeah it’s a Nvidia driver issue. Flickering in shadowlands is on the known issues list for a few updates now.

The flickering is not what I’m talking about. That’s a separate issue that’s been present for Nvidia users since 3 months ago when the driver update for Cyberpunk messed up everything in WoW.

It’s “Unbridled Darkness” now available on Covenant lands!

It’s a feature not a bug!
