Going through the storyline in Revendreth is like looking at the USA from a large scope perspective. Massive wealth inequality with the top 1% hoarding absolutely everything while the rest of the citizens suffer and starve.
I am not saying it is a bad zone because it’s very well designed and looks amazing. I just can’t help but see the parallels as I quest through it.
How about the lying Commander in Chief, President, Proprietor, original Land Owner, Bank Manager, Telemarketer Adviser (so on and so forth here), Sir Denathrius and his parallells to literally like… Every top position in the world?
reminded me of what I read about 1920’s Ukraine conversion to communism (fed everyone before, then communism enters the chat and everyone starved save for the top leaders that owned everything)
I guess its one of those social-specific things because, not being American, that does nothing for me in the trigger department. I even put my little Dwarf Paladin into the Venthyr because I liked the vibe and the Covenant abilities. Maybe we in Australia don’t have that same massive imbalance since we have a very good lifestyle and the high end of town don’t impact on most of us all that much.
The story for Revendreth is good but also pretty basic, it can relate to almost anything. It could relate to the 1% or the Communists hoarding food like another commenter said.
I’m just taking it as a standalone thing instead of a metaphor personally.
Well, it’s 2020… and Cuba is in that exact situation. The leaders and their families go in all-expenses cruises regularly. The general population is starved, and don’t even have access to basic things. There are even disabled people that don’t have access to a wheelchair.
