Thanks, homie!
I guess this means the next build will probably open this zone for testing.
I just realized why Revendreth has looked familiar to me since it was announced: It looks like Black Rook Hold.
The first steps of Azeroth’s champions within Revendreth are in the Village Ward, Darkhaven. Lorded over by the Harvester of Envy, this humble hamlet is full of wishful dredgers and Venthyr who aspire to be welcomed into the aristocrats residing in the Castle Ward. Downwind of Castle Nathria, its citizens look on enviously as they toil away in the refuse of soul waste and desiccation of reality while the anima drought decays this place away.
The idea of having villages in the afterlife is so utterly bizarre to me.
They’re cribbing Ravenloft ultrahard and I’m a huuuuge fan of Ravenloft so I’m down as hell. The only thing that sucks is that souls that choose to stay are forced to become Venthyr? What if I just wanna be a skeleman?
What a heck, Blizzard? First Bastion, now Revendreth? Do people who stay in Ardenweald become Faun and Maladraxus zambinos?
Ardenweald waiting room
Very excited for this one, although I feel like the “corrupt leader is overthrown by heroic rebels” thing has been done so often and so recently that Denathrius, shady as he is, winding up as the good guy would have been more refreshing.
Like on a larger concept/cosmology level, I think Revendrath is extra.
But the actual covenant, it’s style is all kinds of extra. It’s looking like it’ll be my overall favorite covenant.
Yeah, I hate this about the Shadowlands… it’s kinda crazy to think all our characters become weird entities hardly resembling what they were in life. Even the race-related zones don’t look anything like their specific races.
Uther himself looks super weird as a Kyrian.
While a little weird, I also find it to be rather neat.
Perhaps or perhaps not. After all the data-mined Vashj model is still a Naga. Plus Cairne been dead since Cataclysm and twice he’s ghosts interacted with Baine and he’s still a tauren. So it could simply depend on the realm.
The fem vampires aren’t sexy enough.
I guess that’s how one removes pride, to degenerate into something so hideous one has no more pride in their appearance.
The place is still neat though. It’s very 2000s Hot Topic. The Gargoyle Legion is so cool. The female gargoyle in the preview looks so other worldly with her elongated neck, and bald head. It’ll look even more freaky once she does the arrakoa twitching animations.
I’m excited to bring my DK here.
Not gonna lie, looking forward to going there because my Swirly-woosh-woosh Van Helsing blades aren’t dull after Drustvar.
If Caed has to join that one for more Van Dwarfsing action, so be it.
bahahahaha
Long shot but I think it’d be neat if Kirtonos the Herald turned up.
He’s a secret boss from OG Scholomance you could lure to the balcony with blood of the innocent. Guy would shift between undead PC and gargoyle forms.
Until Wrath he was the only out and out vampire in the game and was pretty fascinating. This seems to suggest that gargoyles are from Revendreth, as are all things Vampiric, so that would be a hell of a throwback.
Doesnt have to be a major plot character but some reference to WoW’s old school dracul would amuse me.
Everything but her torso and head are skeletal though. The generic Shadowlands naga model is completely skeletal. If anything I’d bet that shedding flesh is how the hierarchy of Maldraxxus ascends, with people like Alexandros Mograine and Draka being fleshy just being a placeholder.
Noticed that the Anima Worldeaters are from Revendreth… Same must go for the Anima Devourers and Anima Mites… And here I thought they all came from Ardenweald… What does Ardenweald Death Magic look like then!?!
Will we get Elementals for Bastion and Ardenweald’s Death Magics eventually?
Love my vampire hot topic children
Not a huge fan of vampires in general but these guys look interesting, plus I frickin’ love the architecture of these castles. Not a covenent I’d choose for my shaman but certainly one of my alts will go here.
I really hope they explore a relationship between the Dreadlords and the Venthyr. Especially given how Denathrius looks a lot like a dreadlord.
I never thought they would make elvish characters look ugly, but after playable Nightborne and this, oh am I glad they proved me wrong.
I think it’s a case of Blizz reusing the dreadlord model.
