It’s impossible to know how to get anywhere in this zone by looking at the map. The roads are a confusing web-work of going nowhere fast and there’s no way to tell if the road is suddenly going to be blocked by some gigantic wall or mountain.
Come on Blizzard, you guys should be better than this.
I have and comparatively, this one is is really bad at being a map.
It doesn’t provide a clear indication of where the roads go or if they lead anywhere important. There are so many decorative illustrations that they clutter the map making it difficult to discern the single through the noise. And ultimately, it doesn’t to the primary thing a map is designed to do, get someone from point A to point B.
You just need to get your bearings both using the map and viewing your surroundings. Can’t really blame the map for leading you to a giant wall when you could have just looked at the screen and seen it coming up.
Meh, I disagree, it’s pretty straightforward. The roads are accurate and the elevators are also marked on the map. But I’m Venthyr and I know the zone like the back of my hand by now so
But let’s be real, all the maps for zones that have some elevation don’t show it very well. Revendreth is far from the worst offender. At least there’s the elevators on the map to indicate elevation.
If you mean the parasol and red orb jumping quest, you flight path fly to darkhaven and then turn around, and click the bat… he flies you right to it.
The bats in general fly you up high to places and if that wasn’t really where you wanted to go then glider in the general direction and go from there.
All the red roof buildings on the map are elevators, which can also be glidered off. If you’re out of gliders look for the little stack of three tiny bats, one on top of the other… they’ll take you down safely, not as far as a glider though.
The “need a nag” dedgers and the carriages can all run you around the roads safely to get as close as possible to where you want to go and just suicide run the last bit. I will admit though I’ve gotten horrribly lost in the carriages and ended up further away instead of closer. But the horse rides get you very close to the super high point that you can glider all the way to fp near the world boss there.
I’m comparing their maps. Look at the map of Northern Barrens. You can clearly see the roads and where they go. Now look at Revendreth and see the mess of unclear paths that mostly go nowhere.
LOL i didn’t know this
I’ve just been running around looking for the bridge that goes there and every time i forget where it is
This is why i only do instanced pvp
you know you are not wrong… took me about 30 mins to find where i needed to go without looking at a video. like the quest turn in location for the sanguine depths dungeon quest that rewards 750 anima (i think it was 750). That is a very strange location for a quest hand in but i got lucky and found it really fast.
I don’t recall any zone maps being topographical. That said, it is pretty easy to know what the terrain is like by looking at the colours. Also, use flight path iunno.
I feel like I repeat this to guild far too often. The bats are so incredibly useful, and it’s not like we aren’t ruby capped 100% of the time if we’re not Venthyr.
It’s also why I consider this one of the easy WQs worth doing any time it’s up for a calling or offers anima. Hop the flight path, hop the bat, hit three orbs, run back to flight path and gtfo.
I admit I do get lost in Revendreth more than any other place. It looks like these steps lead up to the overpass, but no, they don’t actually connect! That said, I don’t really want them to make boring mindless zones. If you flattened Revendreth out it would be smaller than the original Barrens in Vanilla and that would be quite boring.
