I know we all like to hate on bastion (me included). I think Bastion’s weakness is mostly with the characters and character design that realyl hurts it. After five minutes you really forget which character is which, why you are even helping them and what you are even doing there. Its like someone is just sucking away your memories.
Revendreth, however, each of the characters you interact with are UNIQUE. Their model is unique, their voices are all different, its to the point where I remember the lady in the Inn who I had to help recollect the lost anima tax. In addition, small things like NPCs moving around the town, and the carriages moving from place to place (amazing place to afk in btw) just make the whole zone feel ALIVE.
The whole place has a gothic feel to it that just WORKS. Blizz really really outdid themselves with the whole place and the designers should be proud.
Theotar and Tubbins/Gubbins had me laughing frequently.
Edit: I picked up the quest to make tea with Tubbins and several mining nodes spawned, so he followed me around for several minutes spamming “Tubbins makes tea”. I thought it was hilarious.
Bastion was okay, Maldraxxus has a good story with good characters but the zone is ugly, and Ardenweald is gorgeous to behold and has a good story.
But Revendreth steals the show for me. I fell in love just minutes into the zone. The aesthetics, the characters, the story, everything just sings to me. It’s why I went Venthyr despite the covenant being poor for warlocks. Screw what sims and damage meters say, Venthyr all the way.
Revendreth’s story and characters impressed me far more than I thought they would. It’s the factor that led me to choose them as my shammy’s covenant. Ardenweald’s was good too, but kind of lagged a bit in the middle for me. Revendreth was fun from beginning to end.
I was actually a bit annoyed at that point because i got lvl 60 finishing Ardenweald, and i already wanted to choose covenant. I Guess i got 60 so early because of WM on. Although i did not do many side quests.
In any case, i disagree, i liked Maldraxxus the best, i was going to choose Venthyr Covenant but ended up choosing Night Fae. Go figure… The best part about Ardenweald though was the fight with the Accuser.
I wasn’t a fan. Bastion was my favorite leveling zone while Ardenweald was my favorite looks zone. Maldraxxus was fun. I disliked Revendreth. Boring story imo.
If I remember correctly the answer was no from Ion. I am sure you noticed but they really slowed everything down in this expansion. They want to stretch the content much more then BfA.
The Revendreth story was certainly entertaining. The best zone/story ever though? For me that was…
…Val’sharah enters the chat.
I’m not sure there has even been one zone that made me feel as gutted, as many times as that one. Was it a happy, fun, make me smile zone? No., but the story was fantastic.
Theotar is probably my favorite WoW character so far. I was really expecting to hate Revendreth, because I am so sick of vampires being overdone in games, movies, shows, etc. I was dreading having to pick Venthyr as an enhancement/resto shaman. But I have genuinely grown to love the zone and the story in it. I think the role the Venthyr play in the afterlife is a pretty cool concept. And I love some of the character, especially Theotar.
“Hello darkness, my old friend” Revendreth was so fun, flavorful, and interesting. The atmosphere, the carriages, and yes, Theotar, are captivating. I love that they have tea parties and the accents are perfectly splendid. If Night Fae didn’t exist, I’d definitely pick Revendreth. Maybe I’ll work on an alt to join up with Revendreth.
