Revamp Old Zones Or Create A New One For Next Exp

If we actually get to stay on Azeroth next expansion instead of taking some portal to some distant place, should Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms get all of their zones or certain zones revamped to not only fit the expansion but show how things have changed during the three year time skip,

Or, should some island/land mentioned in Lore or a totally new piece of land show up for us to plunder?

New conitent or isles are safer, the expectations of a revamp Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms are too dangerous. :dracthyr_sweat:

Such as the Night elves moving away from Kalimdor.

It would be nice to catch up on what the Wolvar and Sons of Hodir have been up to. Gawk at how the goblins have turned Ice Crown into a tourist attraction.

They tried revamping old zones with Cataclysm, and it was pretty unpopular. It also created a disjointed experience of the story and leveling. I doubt they will ever do it again.

Hasn’t Azeroth run out of random hidden island regions? Maybe it’s time to go to a different planet entirely.

They could add a Bronze dragon like Zidormi (?) if a zone needs to be switched between current and past content. And leveling shouldn’t be a problem if following the expansion’s quest line and/or using Chromie Time to level.

Tel’abim and it’s talking fruit hasn’t been found. And also wherever Azshara has set up her new home and wherever the other Goblin cartels are at. An all goblin expansion, that would be something.

It’d be a tall order so I doubt they’ll revamp all of kalimdor and eastern kingdom if it comes down to it. And I know some loud folks will hate on Blizzard for reusing assets so I doubt Blizzard will go back to the continents per se.

Personally I’d love to revisit the continents and bring some life and relevancy back to it. Perhaps updating the faction hubs first for launch, then each patch perhaps have a few more zones updated or something.

With the way things are heading, feel like we may be interacting with some cosmic forces again, it’s kind of how that pendulum swings… and lots of old god chatter in dragonflight, hints of azshara potentially, we still have yet to know the definitive end to dragonflight and I doubt Iridikron is the end boss.

With the theme of multiple zereth’s, cracks happening in the end of shadowlands, the whole arc for murozond, timeways, etc… we may have an expansion solely focus on traveling through alternate timelines to get help to push back against the void, 5th old god [whoever that is]…

Sorry rambling on. Just brainstorming ideas based on what inspiration and direction potentially, this team is taking WoW.

It wasn’t logistical problems that made it bad. It’s hard to explain if you weren’t there for it - the experience of the story and leveling was just missing something. It was widely panned at the time, even more so than WoW usually is, and the WoW team also said it was way more work than creating a new continent. That’s why I don’t expect them to ever do it again.

The problem is the last time they did a revamp in Cata and did a ton of work, players complained things were changed. On top of that, lots of people didn’t acknowledge the rework as new content, even with the introduction of Goblins and Worgens that needed to be run through those zones.

Blizz can’t win if they revamp the old world. They should just do it piecemeal, zone by zone, over a long period of time.

I really just want the dam in the wetlands rebuilt…

They did alot of revamps in bfa,lol

We SHOULD, in the very least the capital cities that haven’t changed since Cata or earlier should be advanced to their current states: rebuilt Gilneas/Silvermoon, replaced Exodar, etc etc…

less urgent is the environmental assets but the trees and stuff could use a graphic facelift as well.

I LOVED BFA and Boralus, Tieragard etc with it’s medieval seaside setup vrs say SL (yuck) I wished they’d do like a similar, more earthy world, just so dweebs like me could hang and explore in. I just think we should luxuriate in the environment and wish they could just continue, like the Story in BFA so we could still lvl up in it. Same with NRend. Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdom.

I just find it so depressing to finish up a zone you love and it’s all over. Then something like SL comes out and I wake up with nightmares of creeping green and Lavender pastels till I think I’m gonna puke
