With classic/tbcc I am finding the decision to go back to Outlands or “plain” azeroth not exiting for retail since I’ve freshly done the majority recently. That said if I start in Legion will any of the story confuse me? Also what about BFA/Shadowlands? Just need input/opinions. No big deal. First I have to get to level 50, lol.
I gotta make sure I’m understanding this.
You’re looking to play in Legion/BFA/SL and have the story make sense?
It makes SOME sense if you know what happened every expac, but if you don’t then everything will be confusing or not make sense.
The original concept of directing new character through Exiles Reach and into BfA if you did not have a level 50 character, was that BfA content provided you with the reasons for going on to Shadowlands.
Basically, BfA is the Pre-quel for Shadowlands. The other xpacs have no direct ties to SL, however, the BfA ties to it aren’t critical.
For the most part, being familiar with the BC story is the most helpful for Legion. (Really, the only thing you need to know form Warlords is that alternate Gul’dan gets tossed through the portal at the end.) The Tomb of Sargaras audio story is the bridge between WoD and Legion story wise.
While BfA is the prequel to Shadownlands, most of the relevant story is in the War Campaign, which was end game content. (So you won’t see it while leveling.) So, from that perspective, leveling through BfA won’t prepare you storywise for Shadowlands much better than any other expansion.
