Returning to Classic ERA - Warrior or Warlock

I plan to return to ERA Classic but am torn between rolling a Warlock or a Warrior for a main character. I love both about the same but priority is ease of finding a raid and guild spot at 60 when I compare the two. Also important to note that I will be playing Alliance on the Mankrik cluster to avoid all the GDKP garbage plaguing the Whitemane cluster (before you post about “yes it does have that and x or y” in the comments I am aware, however after keeping an eye on this server cluster for the past few weeks it is far less prominent either way).

Warlock has a much better leveling experience, but Warrior has the stronger endgame.

Which is more important to you, the destination or the journey?

Both I would say. For a warrior I would be totally tanking my dungeons as I find that fun. I just don’t want to level one or the other to find out there is not much need at 60 for the class. Era has had all content for years so imagine class spots are different then when I played classic last 3 years ago.

However if I find a good spot for one or the other would be down for having both at 60 as well, just a matter of which one first I suppose.

Well the meme that is stacking Warriors is still alive and well in Era.

Haha yeah I figured though imagine gearing really competitive as well. Might just flip a coin here to figure out which to do first then hmm…

If you’re more into pvp, warlock. If you’re more into pve, warrior. Raids need like 10x more warriors than warlocks.

When you are a fresh 60 it will probably be easier as a warlock, since there are generally less warlocks than there is demand.

But once you have gear it will probably be about the same.

If there is one you enjoy more, definitely play that one. Or else you can always flip a coin

I’m also leveling a walock on era

Very slowly, she’s only level 8 but I think it will be the next toon I rank / gear.

I play on the whitemane cluster but maybe I will see you in BGs sometimes, you can /wave her name is Xdrain. Easy to spot since all my alliance toons are on the bigglesworth server.

Plan to do BGs as well so will for sure shoot a message and a wave if I see you around in the near future!

Either is good depends on what you like.

If you plan on checking out the new season you might see what changes you like and choose one for era and one for the season. If no plans to touch the season, then era is permanent so leveling both shouldn’t hurt. Both are needed at endgame.

Warlock is more in demand and is more fun than warrior till Naxx. Naxx is where warriors feel like super heroes. I was raiding Naxx, but quit the game and wait for sod because how the shallow the game becomes when raids become one-dimensional. The whole raid is there just to support warriors and, maybe rogues, to their jobs.

Hard disagree with this. Warlock just spams shadowbolt while maintaining a single Curse and maybe banishing a mob every now and again. Warrior is in the fray, tab targeting, managing rage, tanking. It’s way more dynamic and interesting on a day-to-day basis or in farm raids than Warlock where you can bind your entire raid rotation onto your mouse wheel.

Reaching Naxx gear on a Warrior is literally ascending to godhood and becoming totally unstoppable. Warlocks in Naxx gear are very powerful especially in PvP, but the base rotation is still reeeaally simple.

Kinda fits the feel of an army attacking bosses.

I like that a lot more than a raid with paladins zugging, multiple moonchickens, and shadow priests all together doing damage - maybe I’m just a hater, but that would just feel clownish and not really warcraft.

only sod posts allowed here

I plan to play warlock in SoD as well don’t ya worry there!
