Returning To A Covenant You Left

have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagieus the wise? It’s not a story the pull-the-ripcord mechagnome death knight Locutus would tell you.

Kaivax I love u, but this is not enough. Returning to an old covenant is cool. What about the players who need to change to a new covenant to perform well after balance changes? 9.0 was a long patch, we grinded our butts off to max our covenants, get mounts and tmogs while we waited for 9.1. Why do some players have to lose all of that to effectively respec? The BFA equivalent would be like deleting progress in Titanic Research if you wanted to equip gear with different corruptions.

Just pull that rip cord lol.

Can we get a specific date this will be implemented? Kind of want to swap now and get some renown up and swap back for free. But if this isn’t implemented until after raid is released I can’t do that.

I want to level all the covenants at the same time by playing the game. Covenant levelling should be how reputations are done, with rewards for progress rather than a long grind then access to a vendor, it would be way more fun.

Restricting covenants, and trying to make it a meaningful choice, has to be one of the worst ideas to come out of SL. Especially with power attached. Talk about not knowing your playerbase.

SO like with lots of SL, this concept with covenants is actually a brilliant idea, applied wrong, with extremely unfun restrictions applied, and with something no one asked for or wanted, which was power tied to the choice.

One day someones going to pick through the pieces of WOW and stich together a game greater than the original, its all here already…just need people with a better vision steering the ship.

I’ve never changed Covenants. I knew there was some sort of penalty time wise. But, I didn’t actually realize there was a “betrayer” status. This sudden realization made me laugh because it seems so ridiculous.

Moreso when you consider the covenants are coming together every other chapter.

How dare you leave us to help…*checks notes * our millenia old allies who are trying to accomplish the exact same goal as we are!

WE HATE YOU.

BTW, you still cool to collect 10 boar butts from our zone in the next couple of hours?

Remember, Lilly. There is a rule of being a Hypothetical Wife. There can only be two: A Hypothetical Wife and a Hypothetical Husband. Three if Honeypot from Moon Guard is involved.

You are no longer my Hypothetical Wife.

You have been replaced.

when we last met, I was but the learner. Now, I am the master.

I guess this is how Subzero feels about Frost.

OK thank you… But doesnt fix the issue that someone feels they have to leave a covenant they have already invested way to much time into because you $^&*heads cant balance the game… Thank you but no thank you… I think I am done…

This is my concern. I’m about to finish my week 1 quest and would like to have this worked out.

Hot take giving everyone betrayer status detracts from demon hunter class fantasy.

Exactly. Like, if there was some sort of competition at least, it might make sense. But, there’s literally no friction whatsoever between any of the Covenants. It’s just an absurd mechanic.

I love how there’s still no answer to the people who already made the switch asking how/if/when this will apply to them. I guess the sharp criticism from the rest of us scared them off from replying.

So what does this mean? We don’t have to do the two regain our trust quests now?
