So i have loved healing in wow in the past, but i came back to find we have to do tons of damage now? I am having a hard time grasping that fact as either holy or disc and i am looking for answers as to how i can play this class without completely sucking at it what do i need to do what is atonement why is it important and what is going on this is insane who did this?!?
It’s not so much that we NEED to do “tons” of damage, but it’s more-so we want to be looking for times we can sneak in a couple spells to burn down mobs.
if you’re looking for more of a classic style that you remember, stick with Holy priest. Disc requires dealing damage in order to heal, thats their gimmick. But Holy is more of your standard healer.
Yea i sorta switched over to holy but still feel lost on it a bit
Your damage as the healer should not matter for you. Most groups will never bring it up. It’s only relevant to the title chasers and those who pretend they are in the title-chaser’s league.
Focus on healing and keeping everyone alive consistently. After that has become trivial, then you might start devoting time and learning to your dps output, out of sheer boredom if nothing else.
As Brandy said, Disc heals with damage, so there’s no avoiding dps in that spec. Holy is more traditional. If you’re feeling lost with Holy, you’ll have to keep sticking to it. Run Normal dungeons- most groups won’t die even if you auto-run through the dungeon, much less press random spells. This will give you a safe space to familiarize yourself with your spellbook, and then your talents, and see what build works for you.
Thank you! I was half expecting to get trolled with the get good n00b lolz pleasantly suprised ill keep at holy and see where it takes me
Were all learning every day. Glad to have you back in the game, hope you have a good time!
