Hey yall, So I am returning player who quit during shadowlands. I just preordered the war within and upon logging in, I realized I am completely unable to fly. My character is currently in Orgrimmar. I am also unable to interact with flight trainers. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated !
Flight is given automatically now, look in your spellbook for the levels required for each stage.
What mount are you attempting to use? What level is your character?
Edit: apparently, unless I’m blind, they have removed flying from the spellbook so I cannot even check myself on a character that cannot fly yet.
Edit 2: No they haven’t, I had passives hidden /sigh
I tried various mounts, some even stemming from WOTLK and my character is level 60. I had no issues before my hiatus.
As Cazadori said, flying is learned automatically now, so you don’t need to buy it from the trainers.
But, it appears that anyone who hasn’t done the quests for Dragon riding will be unable to fly at all until the quests are done.
I don’t know why Skyriding and the switch to Steady Riding was attached to Dragon Riding in the way that it was.
It’s a bug. You never bought or played through Dragonflight and unlocked dragonriding right? Anyone who hasn’t has lost all access to all forms of flight. There is no button in the mount journal for me or anyone else in the same boat. Just gotta wait for Blizzard to fix it, I guess. If you’re impatient, going to the Dragon Isles and getting through the first 25 so main story quests will eventually get you to a quest called ‘Dragonriding’ that will unlock skyriding as well as restore your ability to use steady flight.
Hey yall, So I used my free boost on a random character to see if it would help. It did. Apparently learning dragon riding on one character will unlock both forms of flying for all other characters on the account. Thank you!
Ok, open your your Warbands Collection Shift-P, mount tab and at the very top you should see a Toggle, it will be called Skyriding, try toggling that to Steady Flight if it is there.
