Hi there.
Just returning to the game. Last raid was castle Nathria. I’m so lost…
What’s the best approach to gearing up to get into heroic raiding and maybe some battlegrounds? The amount of honor and conq required to fully upgrade a set looks absurd…
Is it best to farm out some of the ZM gear and get renown to 80? Can that be upgraded or is it replaced with raid gear?
Is Haven a separate place and worth doing this late?
Do I still run choreghast for leggo? Or is this new flux currency the one to go for?
How do you even get to these new zones is there any pre reqs like you have to do all of the maw stuff or a certain campaign?
Is Korthia a separate zone again to unlock higher conduits and some weird socket system?
In all my years of playing this game I have never been so lost… There seems to be way too many currencies and systems in place without direction on what course to take.
YouTube guides and wowhead haven’t really clarified which system is most relevant… they just explain the systems. Just want to get on the right track so I can play the game…
Many thanks

If you want renown 80 fast, unlock Zerith Mortis and do all of the quests (I swear almost every quest gave me renown on my alt) If you still need choreghast it’s also an efficient way (roll 9’s with a group goes super fast). Haven is the main base for us in Zerith Mortis. The flux currency is used to make your 291 leggo and once it opens the new creation catalyst (alllows you to turn things into tier pieces) Korthia can pretty much be skipped at this point since with the rep with the Enlightened you can get conduit upgrades.
If you’d like a hand, add me as a friend in game, I’m always happy to help others. You should be able to start with ZM right out of the gate and if you have enough anima you can buy 226 gear from a vendor to get you started.
You can also fly in Zerith Mortis once you do the quests for it (it’s really not bad at all honestly)

That is sensational information. Thankyou so much mate!
I returned about 3 or 4 days ago.

Make sure you are of the right covenant that best suits your class.
-
Do at least 3 chapters to unlock item upgrading and your Covenant Forge thing (Don’t worry so much about renown - you will max out at 80 renown before you complete the main campaign chapters)
-
Start and finish 7/7 chapters for Zereth Mortis
3a. Go to the quartermaster vendor Vilo in Haven and purchase the Font of Ephemeral Power - this will unlock every single covenant available at 226 ilevel for your covenant’s Forg of Bonds (talent-like system you benefit from your covenant)
3b. This grants you your second legendary, and progressing through this zone unlocks catchup mechanics for other alts as well
-
The legendary you had prior is still useful - You will never have to set foot again in Torghast once you are Honored with The Enlightened because the Quartermaster vendor in Haven named Vilo will sell “Bag of Explored Souls” for 3k Cosmic FLux which gives you the exact amount of materials needed for a maxed out legendary (ilvl 291)
4a. The Enlightened rep is a grind. I’m not even honored yet - you only get it from certain kills/bosses in the new raid, “sepulcher of the first ones”, daily’s, World quests once you’ve unlocked them, rare creatures in Zereth but very little (10 to 15 per kill) and only a handful of side quests will reward rep. The biggest single rep reward I got from a quest is the quest that has you “assist others throughout zereth” and it’s a % completion bar - took me a couple days, rewarding me 1250 Rep.

At this point you can continue to progress in Zereth Mortis, find treasures, daily’s, your ilevel at this point should be sufficient to start in LFR or start your honor grinding/upgrading like I did etc
