Returning player... Rep grind

Hey

Just returned from before legion ended, been playing WoW since launch, and took a break about the time when BfA was announced and such - As a casual, I find it a bit annoying and kinda takes the fun away that there is a grind for rep still for the new races, I can do new content and not have a new race or I can spend wasted time on old content to just get a race I want to make and play - even after paying money for the expansion. :stuck_out_tongue:
I understand the hardcore player base and those who want everything first, either in achievements or collections and such did everything before the expansion came out to acquire some of the new races. But those who have limited time to play due to jobs, career, family (kids :stuck_out_tongue: ) and don’t have the needed time to spend hours upon hours and weeks on end just to acquire the reputation to unlock a race they want - seems a bit much.

Kinda makes it feels like a waste of money, but then again, any subscription based can feel like a waste of money unless you enjoy it! I’ve enjoyed WoW for a very long time, this is just a turn off. xD So you guys only get the expansion plus a single month of game time from me! Maybe later it will change, or at least bring the reputation requirement to friendly. :stuck_out_tongue:

That less than an hour a day for one week sure does take a long time to do.

I agree.

However, they’ve shown they aren’t budging on the issue, so your choices are:

  1. Grind it and get it.
  2. Don’t grind it and don’t get it.

The choice is up to you.

nothing to see here

player takes break from the game and then is upset he needs to catch up

Exactly! I was just sharing my thoughts, not asking for a change -would be nice- Thanks for speaking my thoughts

Pretty much this.

For the record though. I am cool with relaxing rep grinds for older expansions like WOD. It’s old stuff…let it go.

Oh, I agree. I took a break before the Jungle was released in Draenor, and just came back for BFA.

Talk about catching up on reputation grinds. :joy:

I have all these and am not a hardcore player these days. I play about a half hour before work and if I am lucky an hour after work. Weekends are usually hectic so time play is erratic. I had all the reps within a couple of months of Legion’s release just by doing emissaries and missions on the class hall board.

This is also one of my main complaints. There is alot to see in BFA though so you have some cool things to look forward to. But having said that, the rep grind is stupid. Not only do you need to grind to unlock allied races in an old expansion, but when you get o to the BFA zones you have to grind rep to do almost everything. Rep to eventually unlock flying, rep to raise your HoA, rep to unlock your missions to grind rep. Its really lame.

If I could give some advice from someone who’s leveling a half a dozen characters, when you start in BFA zones, just grind out all the quests in each of the zones, your going to have to do it, theres no getting around it. Just put on some music and pick up everything you see.

In the same vein, seriously pick a main and just grind it out. BfA is particularly harsh for alcoholics such as myself.

I used to agree with the op, but honestly it is so stupidly easy now to get the legion races it’s not even a valid complaint anymore.

As for the rep grinds in current content…well it’s current content. You should be grinding it anyway. I play less than 4 hours a week and I have maghar and am on track for zandalari. I also got night borne in 2 days. (That was for mid honored -> exalted, but still.)

There isn’t an issue anymore. Play the game, the rep will come.

let it go…let it gooooooo…

Damn you Frozen!
