Havent played in ages and i dont know what quest to take. my characters are lvl 40 and theres a few quest to pick from. Is the latest one i can do at my lvl Kul Tiras and then from there ill be able to work up to the shadowlands quest or what?
ignore the lvl 58. forgot i had started a new character from scratch when the expansion first came out. im trying to work on all my older characters and i had only played a month or two when this expansion came out.
You should have access to Chromie Time (as you’ve leveled up a character to 50) so that means you can use whatever expansion you want to go from 40 to 50 to get to Shadowlands. (You can turn on Chromie Time by talking to her near the Embassy.)
Turning on Chromie Time for any expansion will cause all the non-shadowlands content to scale to 50, so you don’t have to actually quest in the one you pick. Which one you pick will determine which dungeons you see in the dungeon finder.
Honestly, if it were me and I just wanted to get to Shadowlands content, I’d probably turn on Chromie Time and clear out a few of the old 1-60 zones. I like that they are fairly small and self contained, so it feels easier to land in an easier stopping point. (I hate stopping in a zone mid way through.) Alternately, it’s a good chance to clear out any zones in any expansion you haven’t done before (or in a while) or any that happen to be favorites.
You can get breadcrumb quests for any zone from the Hero’s Call board. It will only show 3 at a time, so might have to “dig” for older ones by pickup up quests until the one you want pops up. (And then abandon the extras.) Or, you can just go to the first quest hub for a zone and should be able to pick up the quest chains there.
