Returning player, looking for a lil RP advice for Shaman

So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve touched WoW, and it’s RP in general. With that said, I find myself coming back to the game. I really wanna play an Enhancement Shaman class wise, but really wanna go with that “War Shaman” vibe. Still a spiritualist, and proper worship of the Elements, but definitely with a warrior mindset, sorta deal.

That said, I cannot for the life of me decide between Mag’har, High Mountain, or Normal Tauren. I understand Tauren are very spiritual, and not necessarily war-like. But they do have their own warriors (of course), so maybe it can work? Obviously Mag’har are not shy about fighting, and shamanism is prevalent in their culture. But it feels generic(?) in a way, but I’d definitely like to hear feedback and ideas!

Each orcish clan has its own traditions and customs. I think there’s enough in the lore (and even more in the headcanoncrafting) to differentiate between how a Bleeding Hollow, or Shadowmoon, or Warsong, or Frostwolf would handle their relationship with the elements and ancestor worship. Each will obviously have its ethics and cultural stuff factoring into it. It may not be as present on the surface, but I think there’s more than enough for you to have your shaman be unique and specific to their clan.

A fair point, I’ll do some further digging into the individual orc clans and got from there then. Maybe I can pleasantly surprise myself with any inspiration.

If you haven’t already, playing through the Orc heritage armor questline provides wonderful insight into the clans as they are today.

(Go Orc, I’m biased)

Then don’t decide between them.

Roll a vulpera shaman. Follow Nisha’s example. Wear someone’s hollowed-out skull on your head. Dual wield your favorite axes. Be too damn quick to stop. Run on the wind and storm.

Also you can make up a lot of spiritual stuff that you personally think is cool and just say that’s how you always did it. Vulpera have that grey area of not a lot of lore with a lot of neat stuff you can still extrapolate from their story in Vol’dun, and even primalist involvement this expansion.

Hell. Make a primalist maybe. That could be fun.
