If that’s the case, sure. You have a lot of catching up to do, so you’ll have plenty to keep you busy for a while. There are quite a few annoyances at end game currently, but you have a few expansions to catch up. I’d suggest not using a boost and just leveling through the content you missed naturally.
Depends if you want to do higher end pve you have to accept doing a lot more grinding then ever before to do it.
You may disagree, but consider that a fresh 120 without a main to feed them catchup benthic gear etc and marks of honor and timewalking badges to buy things is going to struggle a lot more than someone who only dipped out of the expansion for a few months.
No. Every expansion in the past was $50. Not sure if they came with the sub though.
Anyways, should you return? I’d say maybe. We’re in the content drought and I’d say that BFA might have enough content to hold you off until Shadowlands Pre-Patch.
Absolutely not. 8.3 is a pretty crappy patch outside of raid and the expansion itself is the worst this game has ever seen. People are going to be unsubbing in droves over the next month or two.
Its a rough time for it.
AP grind, Essence gather, Azerite traits, cloak grind.
If you have some friends/guild to assist, would be awesome. Alone, its not impossible, but lotta catch up to do at this point…
I hit 120 on my monk and took a 6 month break after BFA came out. I have picked it back up and I am really enjoying the content. So my answer is yes BFA is worth it from my point of view.
Don’t listen to people here, this is literally the last place you want to influence your opinion. Whether it’s worth it or not depends what you like doing in WoW. I would say it’s at least worth getting just to see everything.
A great example of the type to completely ignore.
Don’t listen to the naysayers, the game is fun. I’m having a great time raiding and doing mythic+, and outside of that, the questing experience is fun for a solo player or in a group. The story is kind of lackluster, but that’s not unusual for the genre. Is there some grinding to be done? Yes, but it’s really only necessary if you want to be competitive in pvp, raiding, or mythic+. If you’re just playing casually, you don’t need to do anything that you don’t enjoy. If you like MMORPG’s, you’ll like this. If you don’t, you won’t.
I’ve returned after not playing since Sept 2018 (only lasted a month on my main) and after playing Classic for 6 months and getting bored.
I created this character to try and see the game from the Hordes perspective and so far have been having a blast.
Thanks for the replies everyone. People seem to be saying theres a lot of grinding. Is it more or less the same as before? I have no idea what these azerite and essence things are.
Im definitely going to be a casual player. After hitting max level, i intend to do some BGs (not rated). Back when i played, you didnt need to be competitive to get the best gear. Not having 2050 rating only robbed you of marginal weapon and shoulder piece upgrade. But for all other gear, you could get the same pieces, with just occasionally doing arena. Is that still the case?
Yes but only because you’ve been gone so long. Legion is awesome and there is so much to do in that xpac alone. Plus there is MoP and WoD to explore and experience for the first time.
BFA starts out decent enough but it slowly gets, not sure what the word is but it gets old, at least for me it did. There is catch up gear now so it’s not that bad if you’re looking to get into 8.3 stuff.
I would stick with Legion and continue to play that till you feel like something new and then, maybe, try BFA for a month and see if you like it. It’s worth at the least one month of playing.
It’s a sold meh, now with that said you probably like the story lines in some of the zones dustvar is good…
Now with that said if rep grinding and grinding in general are not your thing I would hard pass BFA untill shadowlands
Turn back. Play an MMO where the devs actually listen to player concerns, like FFXIV.
It’s all about the pve gear in bg sadly
No, you can’t. Not anymore.
Fixed your fix. It’s one company called Activision-Blizzard. The decisions for WoW is all Blizzard.
If you enjoyed legion, and you enjoy random rewards? then yeah.
If you were not the biggest fan of legion, then this offers nothing, just wait until the next exp.
It’s not really a lot of grinding. To put it in perspective, I started playing retail again after playing classic for a while because classic took too much time. You only really need to “grind” if you’re trying to be “elite”.
Don’t rely on others’ opinions. Make your own.
I made the mistake of thinking Draenor wasn’t any good because of what the community said, it’s not that bad, and I’m super upset I missed out on a lot of story cause I returned in Legion.
Buy BFA and make your own decision. There are so many haters around, I have no idea why people hate on things like it’s trendy.
