Returning Player Help With Professions

So I have returned after a long break and decided to play Legion Remix which i enjoyed. Now that its over i have returned and have absolutely no clue as to how professions and the profession orders work. Is there a place that explains it like a Dummies Guide? Please any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

They added Specs, Profession stats, and item/profession quality.

Professions- There is “specs” now which you get spec points, and are able to use those points on specilzations in order to do specific things better, and unlock bonus things. From gathering while mounted, to crafting special grenades, and even more grenades.

Gathering- Collecting a type of resource for the first time gives you “Spec points” you will also find items from treasures and stuff that also give “spec points”

Crafting- Crafting items for the first time give you “spec points” as does completing quests, finding treasures, and completing NPC work orders.

There is profession stats, stuff like finesse which increase the amount of material you gather. Perception which gives you higher quality and more rare items
Then for crafting there is ones like multicraft that let you craft MORE of items you craft multiple of, like for example, extra potions. and a few others.

Because items have qualities and so many different ways to customize them now, from what stats you want, to ilvl, to special effects, you can now place “work orders” these work orders are you getting materials, and putting up an “order” on a public board for someone to craft, you can also send private ones to specific people, and to guildies.
If you are a crafter, you can go to your “crafting table” and see public and NPC orders, which you can complete for gold comissions (players/NPCS) and for bonus items/spec points (NPCS)

There is indepth guides to specific professions so I reccomend looking up videos or wowhead guides on your specific profession, especially for midnight as I wouldnt bother with The War Within’s right now, cause it’s about to be over.

Professions changed in Dragonflight, in a way that I rarely bother with them amy more,

There are Profession Guides on Wowhead

But what I would recommend is searching YouTube. In Dragonfligtht there were lots of videos explaining the new system, and the basic system hasn’t changed since then, so any video from then or later gives you the general idea.

So search for

  • Dragonflight Professions

to learn the basic shape of what Blizzard did with them or

  • Midnight Professions

to get an idea what’s coming up
