So I left around mid season 2 and resubbed last week. I had timed a few 15-17s maining frost and was very happy with where it was both ST and AoE but since I have returned that is not the case so I’m looking to make the jump to fire. Iv played all specs for years so I understand the core of them but what I’m looking for is the nuances to fire and any tips or azerite/essences interactions I might not know about. Mainly:
How does the aoe rotation outside combustion work with hard casting Flamestrike?
How many targets should there be for this to be better than just ignite cleave?
What are the best essence combos?
Any be benefits to changing your build base on any particular affix?
Thanks for any input.
Id be interested in any info regarding this as well. Especially reccomended essence combinations and the reccomended rotation for AOE in combust and outside. If youre combusting during a large AOE pull should I still be doing the standard pyro fb combo? I get pretty good aoe dps scorch-fb-flamestriking, then dragonsbreath at the end of it.
I’ve read on forums conflicting information.
I’ve seen some say you hardcast Flamestrike when you’re talented with patch and there are 3+ ads in a mob of equal priority. If you get a hot streak crit you use it for Strike.
The Icy Veins and Wowhead guides don’t mention hardcasting but they do say for 3+ equal priority ads you flamestrike. Otherwise you mow down priority ads on ST and let your mastery work.
Essence combos can depend on the dungeon, typically you run Lucid major at all times for fire, blood of the enemy is insanely good when paired with flame patch.
Conflict and strife is also very good. for a 3rd minor as now we have access to it, something like purification protocol is nice . If you’re looking for any other information I recommend checking out this guy on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/PreheetWoW/videos)
