Been gone for years, my kids and I are back and playing, loving the game. My guild is gone, all of them went to Classic, and no one seems to be responding in Guild finder, I’ve put a few queries out and they just sit “Pending” forever. I’m OK playing with just my kids, we’re having a blast, but there’s 1 thing I can’t get that I really want…the flaming owl form off of Mythic Fyrakk. Is there any guild with a spot on a mythic run that will give me a shot at Fyrakk? Bear or Cat, Horde or Alliance, I’ll do my best to carry my weight, though I’m only LFR experienced. I just want the owl, and the group finder has been quite useless for this endeavor.
You’re probably better off buying a carry. I’m not sure if any guild is going to be nice enough to get a free carry to someone they don’t know. That or, you could work your way up, if LFR is your only experience no mythic group is going to invite you.
Yeah, getting that vibe. It’s funny, when I was last here, I was in a 500 person guild, part of a multi guild alliance (the Penny Arcade silliness), I knew tons of people, there were 3 channels of chatter, general chat was a thing.
Now that I’m back, no one talks. In general, in /say, in groups, in raids, no one talks. How did the merging of servers make people less social? I’ve sent requests to a number of guilds that claim to be open to recruiting casuals, they sit Pending for days/weeks with no replies. How does one prove they’re worthwhile to join a guild if no one talks?
They all talk in Discord; nobody likes talking in-game. Just advertise in trade chat saying something like this, “LF a social guild that raids on weekends at 9-12 am” just something along those lines. If you’re trying to get into one of those high end guilds that do mythic raiding then you need something to show for it.
Oh no, I’m not cut out for high-end raiding, I’m an older player who works like 60 hours a week. In my youth maybe, but these days I just like questing, LFR, and flying around with my druid. It’s not going to kill me not to get it, in 6 months I’ll go solo it at 80 or whatever the new cap will be, I just think it’s really pretty and want it
yeah, next expansion you won’t be able to solo it, you’ll have to join a raid group. If you accumulate probably idk couple hundred thousand or a million gold, you can probably buy a carry for it.
Yeah, a million gold might as well be the moon. I’m duoing Shadowlands raids with my kids, it’s not trivial but it lets us get the things we missed. I’ll eventually get it, it’s not urgent, just looking for a group of people to play with who don’t climb up my backside and giving me a colonoscopy about my build/talents/rotation/deeps/etc.
BTW, thanks for the replies. I’m on a server filled with players, I see 100s of them every day, group in LFG and LFR, doing quests and helping each other, been back for 2 months and you are the 1st human beings to acknowledge I exist, I appreciate it.
