You asked for feedback on abilities we would like to see return, so I have a bit of feedback regarding this. I’m happy to see consecration and hammer of wrath return but seriously,
RETURN EXORCISM AND HOLY WRATH TO US PLEASE!

Seals, auras, jugements, blessings.
Hope you guys have fun when you’ll log in for the first time having auras and use it once, to never use them ever again for their whole time existing.
I would rather have them becoming cooldowns abilities following their initial design, although retribution aura could be redesigned altogether honestly.
I’m not against their reintegration, i’m more hopeful about hammer of wrath and consecration becoming baseline because it means we’re getting 2 new talents for ret
Seals, Judgments, Exorcism, Final Verdict. pls blizzerd
Emancipate, Pursuit of Justice, Exorcism, Holy Wrath, Final Verdict.
I miss a lot of what we had in WoD. Judgment cleave, increased crit chance on enemies above 80% health, and Divine Hammer.
I hope they’ll include Aura of Sacrifice with the baseline Auras, but I want 20% damage transferred to me and no deactivation until I’m below 40% health.
I want to see TBC era Reckoning return. Being able to proc from damage transferred through Aura and Blessing of Sacrifice would be awesome.
I want Seals back. Choosing between more immediate offense, control, or self-healing would be awesome. The chosen Seal should augment your Judgment with effects like Indomitable Justice and Grace of the Justicar.
I want Light of the Martyr to be more impactful so I’m not wasting so many GCDs just to see a health bar move. I think it would also make sense for this ability to always gain the full benefit of mastery regardless of distance.
I really hope they’ll merge the current mechanics of Holy Prism with the character displacement and animation of D3 Crusader’s ability Falling Sword.
Protection’s talent Crusader’s Judgment needs to be available to all 3 specs.
On wow classic I’ve legit aura swapped dozens of times in the last hour alone.
Blessings. All i want now.
I could see getting back the old seals, though i would want them tied to the holy power system, and make them able to modify how some of our other abilities work when you judge them.
Seal concept: You would have three seal types, but each would have a different level of power you could invest to determine the effect of the seal while active. I would say don’t give all paladins access to all three types, maybe tanking gets offensive alongside defensive, holy gets defensive and utility, while ret gets offensive as well as utility.
So a offensive seal might be seal of righteousness to start for spending one holy power to raise seal, but as you spend more you would bring up different seals. like two holy might bring up the dot seal, and three could raise the seal of command even.
Now other seals could be put into the other two types like support/defensive based ones could seal of wisdom or seal of light. While the utility could be seals like seal of justice, seal of crusader, and the like.
Judgement concept: Kinda like how it was during the vanilla/tbc/lk era, which had the different seals judge different effects.
Now this is where it would get interesting, as when a paladin would judgement their seal they have active they would change how some of their abilities work. Example might be seal of wisdom/light might cause your consecrate to heal or restore mana to those inside it, while justice or crusade might root or debuff targets in it, and righteousness might cause it to explode dealing it’s dot n one explosion. An this would be one ability interaction, based on how much holy power you invest it might affect more of them, and each in different ways. that would give paladins alot of versatility.
Oh god yes. If I like anything about Classic, it’s having different seals and judgments doing different things. Gave us a lot of variety.
Better yet, give us back original Crusader Strike + Holy Strike, the way it was intended. Rename Templar’s Verdict to Holy Strike, Crusader Strike stacks a debuff that increases Holy Damage taken, Holy Strike consumes it to deal a burst of Holy Damage.
What’s funny is that is sort of the design they had in Cata, you had certain baseline abilities, got extra abilities based on your spec but still had auras/blessings/etc. that they took away later. I honestly really liked the Cata setup (the only thing I didn’t care for was being locked into a talent tree for a spec until you filled it out), it felt closer to the old style than the new, but everything was viable and the abilities were largely interesting.
exorcism is a big one. i’ll have to think of more later.
I’ll be sad if we end up going to the land of the dead without Exorcism. Would be easy to add. Just place the current Blade of Wrath talent with Exorcism. Makes BoJ into a holy damage generator, it ignores armor so you can get rid of the 25% damage boost on the talent, and make it crit undead. Done.
Holy Wrath and Turn Evil, holy paladins right now have legit zero outplay potential, give them back Turn Evil and you can atleast start doing something
classic and retail is completely different, spell resistance doesn’t exist anymore so all fire, shadow, frost resistance doesn’t exist and you’re not forced to swap for every encounter.
Just give me the wotlk versions of seals + blessings + auras + judgements.
Basically, yeah. Just take WotLK Paladin and give it to us in Shadowlands.
I mean, we fought a legion of demons without exorcism…
I’m going to type my (ret) wishlist, in addition to what was mentioned above. TL;DR - MoP/WoD ret.
Hammer of the Righeous type of cleave/AoE generator - preferably the version where it started being effective on 2+ targets in MoP. Because let’s not kid ourselves - cleave and AoE are fun mechanics and nothing feels worse than attacking two targets at once and not being able to use any generator on both. Especially when the spec has had the history of strong AoE since Wrath.
Supplication passive from WoD that boosted Flash Light crit chance after a kill - nothing was more satisfying than aligning this with full stacks of Selfless Healer for some crazy crits on offheals.
Seal of Truth / Seal of Command from WoD - the idea of ST vs AoE seal was a fun one to me. I liked switching to that blue seal when I had enough targets. I also liked the ramping up DoT on my focus target that symbolized growing pressure on it.
Enhanced Divine Storm - there have been numerous fun enhancements to this ability across recent expansions, only for them to be removed in BFA. From a fun interaction with Final Verdict in WoD to crazy projecting DS in Legion, to the powerful whirl in Wrath - a lot of it can be baked into the ability right now with the right numbers - it will make it feel 300% better instantly.
Pursuit of Justice / Long arm of the Law - walking normal speed all the time feels bad in modern WoW. A lot of players, me included, spend a lot of time farming content that they overpower, and slow moving speed just frustrates everyone. Ever since vanilla paladins had a choice of having a speed increase talent. The Steed feels bad because it’s on a long cooldown, it’s not something you use every time, only occasionally. But I want to walk faster every time, or have small speed burst that I can use on each target when I quest or farm.
Holy prism for ret - I thought it was very retribution. Damage an enemy to heal allies, or heal an ally to damage enemies.
Final Verdict - it looked and sounded awesome and felt powerful. The fact that it was 10 yards, and boosted AoE was also very unusual.
And finally:
Exorcism - a lot has been said, but I want to mention it again. For me it’s fun, because:
I’ve just realized. How sad is that.
Auras are still nice to have for people who like to pay that kind of attention. Switching to another aura if another paladin already provides the one I use. Changing to mount speed aura when I and my teammates are on mounts. Switching to Retribution aura when farming old content to make enemies die, by attacking me. Just thinking about these situations brings positive tingle.
reckining id like to see back for some reckbombs.
