I find it hard to suspend disbelief that the Red Dawn was not only able to detain but incapacitate me.
If I was an evoker or a priest. I might buy that. But I’m a monk. Why do I draw my weapons in this cut scene? wouldn’t it make more sense for me to strike a monk pose?
The idea they just hit Faerin with a hammer and I just give up to spare her life is kind of believable but the idea they incapacitated the paragon monk of the monk order hall with a hammer, without the element of surprise, and no special qualities about them afaik, I just find that hard to believe.
Pandaren created the monk class in theory to practice combat in secret in an empire where they were enslaved and not allowed to carry weapons until the death of Lei Shen allowed them to rise up and over throw their mogu overlords. And I, Aoibhinn, High Warlord who slaughtered countless horde in this very keep, in a total war that engulfed the planet with super weapons, who is the paragon monk of the order hall of monks in legion, weilder of the artifact weapons, 3x curb stomper of the scarlet monestary, 2-3x stomper of the defias, and so on, and so forth, was defeated and detained in direct combat against…a city guard with a hammer.
Look…I know the player characters are vulnerable and not walking gods–that’s why I didn’t even bring up Sarkareth or Ansurek or Argus or Denathrius on the list–but this is just not it. And they left me with all of my legendary mythic gear and super belt in a basic cell…with no wards or seals or anything.
How are these both the most physically capable goons of all time and also the most incompetent? These are the hobgoblins of humans.
I don’t think I needed to win by default in the cut scene but that was disappointing. The equivalent of Captain America just getting hit with a hammer and thrown in jail with his shield without doing anything and not as a part of some kind of 4-D chess infiltration plan.
