We all know it’s coming in The Last Titan.
What are you wanting to see from it and what are you NOT wanting to see?

Honestly not much…
Everything felt pretty tied up there. Im bored of dragon and spider people atm.
The scourge resurfacing under new leadership might be fun but that story feels told even if I’m nostalgic for it. Honestly no idea what I want from a northrend expansion. Maybe a conclusion to the Arthas storyline? We did leave his soul just chilling there after the trial of the crusader patch.
Agreed. There isn’t much reason to return to Northrend other than zone nostalgia
can’t wait for Arthas to show up again after being disenchanted into 35 anima
Hey, he’ll be a force ghost from the “Even Darker Lands” (the place people go to when they die in the Shadowlands) and it will set up post trilogy wow (/jk)
Or better yet, he will be a new alien shapefitting race pretending to be Arthas to lure us to fight a war on a distant planet
It’s blizzard so of course he returns.
It’ll be simply. His 35 anima was never spent on anything lore wise. So some scourge loyalists broke in the shadowlands stole it from some broker who had it on a shelf and then reforged it into a L1CHK1NGR3F0RG3D mechabot, aka mechaarthas.
I do not want to see new Northrend replacing old Northrend.
I don’t mean that in the sense of the actual physical location of Northrend in the gamespace, I mean the events and the things that happened in Northrend. I do not want to see “here are some Nerubians who actually were good guys during the reign of Arthas” or lame retellings of the Wrathgate that change the facts of what happened. In fact I’d almost rather we do not go to Northrend at all the whole thing just feels like modern Blizzard wants to cash in on the pinnacle of old Blizzard and tell it their way.
He shouldn’t be.. lore wise his soul was cast out of the lichking save for a fragment. He’s akin to a reverse Uther.
It was just never addressed, left on a cliff hanger and unfortunately I think forgotten by the devs. The lichking wasn’t arthas and it wasn’t ner’zhul by wrath. That said the current writers openly hate arthas so I kinda doubt it will ever be addressed.
I think primal said it best.
We completed Arthas and the Lick King storyline and that is where my head cannon ends for him, along with SL never happening. The only thing I could honestly see wanting to do, is meet and/or fight Galakrond as he’s the only being worth speaking on at this point in Northrend.
A nice spot for a new house on a mountain side in the snow in a forest.
Tinkers.
Strong characters with great stories.
Great cinematics with great pacing like MOP
The power of friendship. Crap story telling that hits all of the “inclusive” talking point nonsense.
Garbage cinematics that are laughably bad like DF cinematics.
The zones still hold there size & value, the music was the best back then, hopefully whatever we fight is equally as interesting.. old god stuff again maybe? Idk I’m curious for sure.
Would you really wanna see yogg again?
To me he was one of the less interesting old gods. His, it’s master plan was to trigger the titan failsafe then hope to god the players could stop it.
He didn’t have the gift or foresight to my knowledge like znoth. Instead he was mostly omniscient in the moment. Honestly it came off as a old gods desperate roll of the dice to not be wiped out by the undead.
I want some Dwarven stories that matter. A new way forward for the combined Dwarven races.
I guess i remember things differently (wrong?) But he gave the titan creatures the curse of flesh. So if anything, he empowered the Scourge. Presumably to fuel their war machine against the coming of the Legion. Because back then that was the concept (i thought) that the Scourge was another bulwark against the Legions vast numbers.
With that said, its funny that the Void hates the undead more than anything else. Since they made the undead possible.
I think by getting rid of the Scourge element in the game, they really screwed up. They would have occupied so many unique story points in all the narratives weve seen since Wrath.
undead also resistent the call of the void/whispers and shadow magic.
That wasn’t his master plan, it was his failsafe.
His master plan was simply busting out of his prison.
The Taunka as an allied race. They’ve been wanted since they were first seen in Wrath. Gimme those bison people.
How do we know this?
The curse of flesh was created ages before the scourge began on Azeroth. It’s purpose was to make the titanforged more vulnerable to the voids whispers.
And no, the Old Gods did not want to bolster the scourge. In fact it was N’zoth via Azshara that sent Lady Vashj and the naga to aid Illidans efforts in defeating the Lich King. And no better case of the Old Gods being against the scourge is in the Ahn’Kahet dungeon and the fact that Arthas had to fight his way through Yogg-sarons forces back in WC3: TFT to reach Icecrown faster.
Not really, Azeroth would’ve had creatures of flesh regardless if Yogg-saron made the curse of flesh or not. Either from the descendants of the Aqir or other races like Elves.
Vrykul and/or tuskarr as new core races.
Another mass customization update.
The art team and quest designers going wild with how much Northrend has changed between Arthas’ fall and now.
Another new race that this board will complain non-stop about.
Arthas’ legacy being defiled even further.
Tinkers who would be relevant to the story for one season and then fade into the background for the rest of the expac.
I expect to finally actually see the aftermath of the scourge being freed from the influence of the helm of domination during Shadowlands… you know the grave threat to azeroth that we had been told for over a decade would be unleashed if the scourge were to be set free without a lich king to control them… the only reason they haven’t been a major issue thus far is that they have been stranded in Northrend… so we should see mindless undead just running amok everywhere up there… Vrykul, Tuskarr, Furbolg, Frost Dwarves, Iron Dwarves, Mechagnomes (real ones), and Taunka should all be fighting them off… the Nerubians of Northrend will probably be attempting to corral and control them… I fully expect us to be dealing with undead at every turn while we try to deal with whats left of the threat of the Void Lords after midnight and the looming threat of the Titans…
