This isn’t even a theory. Whoever made this probably just inserts a new branch in every time it falls apart. And “Horde and Alliance war line”? Which was literally BFA?

Doubt we are ever doing a full blown Horde vs Alliance expansion ever again. We may see conflicts and maybe even patches themed around it but I doubt we’ll ever get an expansion about it.

I actually kind of like the idea of a “grounded” expansion in vain of Mists of Pandaria. Just adventuring in a newly discovered zone on Azeroth.
Take a break from all this cosmic war stuff. Fight some lower scale but interesting villains, remember what we’re fighting for. Dragon Isles based expansion could be pretty comfy honestly.
Dragons have been almost as much of a punching bag as night elves. Knowing Blizz we’d be on the isles to kill the last few dragons
it really doesn’t matter where we go, it’s going to be the same.
“Champion, you have faced the worlds greatest threats and defeated them.”
“You have even ventured beyond the veil and bested the forces of the afterlife and have returned once again a hero!”
“Now if you would be so kind, our stable hand has called in sick today and we need someone to clean out the barn.”

I had the same thought.
I suppose it’s valid if they’re interpreting the ‘Return’ as towards the idea of the Dragon Isles, Blizzard pitched many years ago & not so much the actual dabbling upon its shores.
Honestly, with what was shared about the ‘Leak’ with the titan spirit Azeroth coming forth and such - I feel a good title for the expansion would be ‘The Awakening’'.
