Everyone I’ve talked to (literally) that has it all agree that it should make a return.
I honestly didn’t remember where it came from. Which is a good sign it’s lost it’s “let’s keep the memories” argument.
Amen. But even if that was an argument that people could make, it basically goes out the window due to the fact that they just added essentially every vanity item from old naxx back into the game minus a few exceptions.
Ashbringer and Atiesh is debatable, sure. But the tabard? The argument is weak as it is, but you could still technically argue that the items they’ve brought back hold more value than the tabard even. Yet they brought back the items and not the tabard… lol
Bumping thread! We gotta keep eyes on this so Blizzard makes this happen!
We the people want the Argent Dawn Tabard to return!
Careful what you ask for.
if it takes millions to get the set, pretty sure Blizz would do the same for the Tabard.
Atleast it would exist in the game. But I doubt they’d make it millions. The other old/rare/vanity items they brought back via recipes don’t take millions to buy or make. Those items are seemingly more rare anyway considering the tabard wasn’t that hard to actually get in real Vanilla. The items required a 40 man raid that was geared in Tier 2 and only 0.1% of the population had actually cleared the raid. Yet, they just brought those items back for us to grab off a vendor. I don’t see why the tabard has to be any different.
yaya but you get my point.
it will either be on the trading post or some ridiculous farm IMO
I have both Tabards already so don’t care either way, just saying, if its something they can bleed your time on, and people will do it (just like naxx T3) it then becomes a viable time sink option for them to develop.
and I actually raided the Original Naxx in a guild called Dark Nemesis back then and had most of the set, yet they added transmogs in long after I deleted all that stuff, except, the tabards lol.
My wish is that they don’t make tabbards so… ugly
in twenty years they couldn’t create a different tabbard model? We get it. you like loin flaps.
The two biggest arguments against bringing back the Argent Dawn Tabard are easily rebuked.
-
Lore - The Argent Dawn are no more, so there is no reason to have the tabard in the game when they are the argent crusade!
This is rebuked with the simple fact that Blizzard can easily make up a “lore” reason to have it brought back, just like they did with the recent vanity items for Naxx. There’s a vendor that was supposedly knocked out and asleep in Thaddius’s room for over a decade. Yeah, tell me that wasn’t pulled out of a hat. They can do the same for the tabard and just say that there are some old tabards they found in some crates. -
The tabard is rare and prestigous!
I mean… do I even need to debunk this? They brought back soulseeker and renamed it soulscryer. This staff was FAR more rare than the Argent Dawn tabard. If they can bring back the staff, then why not the tabard?
There is no reason for them NOT to bring back the tabard. Sure, Blizzard could simply say “we just don’t feel like it” but on the flip side, they could just as easily say “we can just because we feel like it”.
T3 costs 2.8m because of BMAH, this tabard was given away, if they decide to return it I doubt they will put it at a high price, in fact I don’t think it really costs gold, but the coins we use to buy the designs from Omarion in Light’s Hope.
Blizzard has been on a trend lately with returning old vanity items back to the game. With ancient patterns and recipes from Zul Gurub and Naxxramas. We’ve even seen the literal/tangible return of an old instance that alot of us adored - Scholomance.
So then, why can’t they also rope in the tabard of the Argent Dawn, is my question? Blizzard has gone back and forth with their reasons behind why, but at the end of the day, they can decide whenever they want. But if they ARE going to bring back old things, they can atleast bring this back as well. For many of us, the tabard is seen mainly as “the cherry on top”.
‘‘Argent Dawn no longer exists’’ it is partly false, although not everything is represented faithfully within the game, I would not be surprised if there are still some who belong to Argent Crusade but continue the legacy of Argent Dawn representing said organization with their respective tabard, many NPCs in Light’s Hope use it, and well, the currency we use clearly has the name of Argent Dawn, not Argent Crusade, if they will implement that again tabard we should be able to buy it with that coin.
At least I would like to hear something official about this tabard, because absolutely everything rare and popular has been talked about, but the position of this tabard has never been discussed, people really forgot its existence.
This is very true indeed. Dispatch Commander Metz is one of several NPCs that serves as an example!
He’s showing off that Argent Dawn tabard proudly. Even shows his affiliation is still with “The Argent Dawn”
In fact, the silver hand was re-founded in Legion, however they still continue to serve Argent Crusade, so it doesn’t mean that these organizations ceased to exist and are now all called Argent Crusade, they just all belong to and help Argent Crusade together, but I imagine that they still continue to work separately in their respective fields, therefore, Argent Dawn still exists, but its members are not numerous, but they do exist.
I’m not going to lie. I was actually surprised they didn’t bring this tabard back given that they brought back the argent dawn commission in order to unlock this event. It genuinely feels like an oversight. The fact that this small gem may not be brought back because of that is just sad, man.
Like, they will bring back Soulseeker, Plague Bearer, Death’s Bargain, Misplaced Servo Arm, Maul of the Redeemed Crusader… all of these super sought after weapon transmogs for decades, but they won’t bring back the tabard affiliated with purging the undead and Naxxramas? A tabard that far more of the WOW population has versus these weapons?
I am inclined to believe what we have commented before, most likely they forgot it or thought that since nobody asked for its return, they assumed that nobody would notice and nobody wanted it, however this post has shown the opposite and I think that it is something that should be “corrected”, if they are worried about the FoS then I do not think it is difficult to create a tabard that is cosmetic and it does not grant the FoS, I do not care if I do not physically have the item or that it does not grant the FoS, I want its transmog, is the only thing that interests me.
Should ask for the Tabard of the Protector? It’s the exact same look with a cool built in emote… one of a kind on use ability!
It would be in Blizzards favor to re-add the tabard back to the game. More of us would be grinding for it and therefore more of us playing their game.
As far as the FOS achievement, I agree. They’ve already proven to us that they can release a tabard with the same model but with a different name as seen with the Tabard of Protector. I don’t see why they can’t with this as well.
You could just call it Reclaimed Tabard of Argent Dawn or something. Same tabard model but a different name. Heck, they literally did just this very thing with all of the vanity items.
Soulseeker - soulscryer
Misplaced servo arm - replaced serve arm
Might of menethil - strength of menethil
These are just examples I’ve already mention. So why can’t they do this with the tabard assuming the FOS achievement is the issue at hand?
Blizzard already crossed that line.
