ret is probably the slowest class in the damn game.

Well tbf, someone has to be the slowest and the fastest lmao. As I said, you’re not as susceptible to root like warriors and your mobility is 100% better than Enhance Shamans.

If that’s the case, then I’ll just play Prot. But if you wanna play ret you have to deal with the handicaps it has—slowness. Thus the need for range attacks.

There’s a sweetspot though, obviously rets need range but how much is the question. Seems that most people would agree that 20yard is too much and 12 was just fine.
