Last time ill say this. That IS fine. Not every guild, or every player is meant to clear Mythic Raiding, and that is intended and designed to be as such. Just because you dislike it, and a handful of others, does not mean its a broken system. Its is perfectly 100% acceptable that some folks simply cannot or will not choose to make the sacrifices and commitment to clear. Stay in LFR Normal or Heroic. Or M+.
It works. It doesn’t work for you. Either change your mindset or change your team. Plenty of folks and guilds do this and manage to meet their goals and thats all that there needs to be.
I don’t dislike difficult content, never said that. Can look at my achievements and see that I have every Cutting Edge since WoD except one. The game is in a bad place, 20 man is not “fine”. The game is losing more and more raiders because less and less people want 20 man as the “static” size. The game is not “fine” and no I’m not a “naysayer” for stating the obvious.
Nah that’s just your viewpoint. Looking at the RWF it looks just fine. They faced an incredibly difficult raid, overcame it, and completed it, in varying degrees of success. And it was extremely popular to watch. Thats exciting and rewarding to those who manage to do so. You think its broken, fine, no one cares to be frank.
There’s no hamstringing when you make more interesting mechanics don’t don’t require something gimmicky like “oh all 20 players are dropping defile in Mythic Jailer lol”. That’s not an interesting mechanic.
Im glad you’re somehow an authority on what is good and bad raid design. I’d hesitate to ever take your input on any sort of design.
Im not authority either, but get of your high horse acting like you know what needs to change and what people want. You don’t. And while an opinion, 20 man mythic is much more accepted than going back to 10 man.
So again, it makes zero sense to design the game around literally two guilds. And yea, it was so entertaining to watch guilds bug the encounter with Mortal Strike and Mirrors of Torment to essentially skip the Mythic Phase to get kills
I’m not going to reply to someone(you) who hasn’t even raided Mythic any further because why should your opinion even be taken seriously when it doesn’t effect you.
Ill leave it at this cause at this point its like arguing with a brick wall.
What is likely the first thing that people think of the first week of mythic raid drop in a fresh tier? Race to world first.
Whos playing for what team, how much are they going to spend, what with their comp be, whos broadcasting, who’s competing? Much of the community cares about these rare events, More than care about 10 man mythic raid returning.
Was the Jaina blizzard + intermission 1 an interesting mechanic combo?
What about mechanics that have a soft requirement of a certain class being present? There are 12 classes now, and 13 next expansion. Try doing mythic xymox without a warlock.
In warlords (11 classes) there was a dev interview where they said it was reasonable for a 20 player guild to be able to field 1 of each class. They also gave us blast furnace, which hard required a priest (iirc, rogue could do it after a nerf).
Mekkatorque on mythic was substantially harder without 1-2 DKs and 2-3 druids.
There are a good amount of teams that have the skill to compete in RWF but do not have twenty players that can not commit to day raiding for that long.
If they only had to have 10 players or even let’s say 15 the race would have a lot more variety of teams.
Also I just want to say I agree mythic raiding is not for everyone but there are plenty of mythic raiders who would prefer a different format. It isn’t just people who feel like they can’t get into mythic raiding.
One of the main reasons I would like 10 man personally is I can be more selective on who I play with and not have to bring people I don’t think are at the right level just to hit roster numbers. Yes I could cut and run and go to a different guild, but guilds are communities at their core. just because I enjoy mythic raiding doesn’t mean I should have to abandon that principle.
I would love to play with old guildies outside of raid but unfortunately most of my time on wow is spent preparing myself for raid as it is. Which is a problem in itself.
Heroic isn’t mythic difficulty. Heroic is pretty darn easy. I want to be able to play with my friends and actually feel challenged. I want to be able to clear Heroic with my friends and then look forward to a greater feat, instead of having to just piddle around with alt runs or mog runs of normal mode or whatever.
Mythic raiding is more than just the Race to World First…
