Retro/Premium Server for those that Hate and Love Mythic +

TLDR:
New server (Server 1) with Mythic + disabled
New server (server 2) with increased Mythic + difficulty and focus for players who love this content and want more out of it then retail wow provides.
Both servers are a premium fee $19.99 (+$5 more not $35 total) to make up for the minor maintenance cost.
Both servers are set at current retail wow patch period. Blizzard can decide to not charge the premium, it’s there business.

Hello everyone. I am a long time MMO player, wow player, and because one of the main Directors comes from EQ, they will understand why I am making this post, a huge Everquest player (from Beta till the current TLP’s).

My favorite MMO was always Everquest until WoW WOLTK came out until Legion. WoW during this period was the peek joy I had in my MMO history and the thing that ruined it for me was Mythic +. I slowly fell out of love with WoW because of Mythic +. I still enjoy the majority of WoW in every other way, but I cringe at Mythic +, which is disappointing for me because I want to love WoW and play…because the raiding is amazing but Mythic + drives me away every time.

I also don’t really have interest in playing classic servers because I have experienced those expansions and don’t really want to do them again. I want to PLAY retail WoW. I am excited about the three expansion Saga and the upcoming housing! But WoW Retail with Mythic + has left me behind.

One the Blizzard Directors where the reason that TLP’s were brought to Everquest because you understood that modern Everquest had left many of the long-term EQ players behind and they wanted that old feeling, in a new twisty way. This is apparent to work in WoW with the Season of Discovery and Pandamonium event. These events/servers have been hits and brought back many players.

I am going to list a few server ideas that I really hope Blizzard makes because I think the demand will be much higher than many people think. For those reading this, if you want one of these servers or have suggestions please add a reply.

I am calling them Retro/Premium servers for a reason because I am willing to pay for it and put my money where my mouth is. I suggest that these servers require a $19.99 baseline sub fee to play to make up for the additional Dev time needed to make them work. But these servers once started won’t be hard to maintain but will be in demand.

Retro Server 1: (this server does not need some big launch event. Launching it sooner than later would make it more successful due to people wanting to get in on the WOW fun now).
Retail WoW with Mythic + disabled. $19.99 Sub fee.
Very simple concept. It launches at the current spot of retail wow. No exceptions. Same timeline, patch period, etc. The ONLY thing different from this server is Mythic 0 is the max dungeons can go, just like all the expansions prior to Legion. Mythic raiding stays the same and Delves stay the same. (Delves become the superior gear option after Mythic 0)

This will allow so many players who loved WoW before Mythic + to have that Retro WoW feeling we have missed and still be competitive in PVP/Mythic Raids without the burden of having to run our weekly 10’s.

Character transfer to this server should be enabled (more money for you). Mythic + gear will not transfer with the character but all other gear stays. (maybe make the item revert back to Mythic 0 level).

Warcraft logs will just have to adjust and make a “tab” for comparisons on this server for rankings. No more raider IO or pressure of this system.

This server does NOT remove anything from the retail player now who loves mythic +. It does not force a system on them to cater to the “carebears” who don’t like Mythic +. This is just a server that many people will love and others will pass on. No harm to anyone and will just bring profit to Blizzard. We know from experience how new servers with minor ruleset adjustments = big business.

Premium Server 2:
Retail WoW with Mythic+ extreme challenges. $19.99 Sub Fee
I am not educated enough on Mythic + but want to give a server to those that love Mythic + just as much as I want a server with it disabled.
This server would have a special server only leaderboard (weekly/monthly) where the top players get “Tier” rewards. Example top 100 players get unique mount at the end of the month if they fall into this category. Top 200 players get a unique pet and Top 500 get a cosmetic. (Top 100 players get all three).

This server has additional affixes/restrictions that are not on the retail servers that make Mythic + more challenging. I will let the experts decide what and how but the point of this server would be to create a much more challenging experience for Mythic + players who want something more than just “let’s do a +22 instead of a +21”.

The other thing I think would be good on this server is 2x the amount of Mythic + dungeons in the current season so Mythic + players have way more diversity in the weekly grind.

Thats it. That is my pitch. 2 new server types that do not take anything away from players who love classic or retail WoW. No forcing changes on certain types of players who enjoy their current experience. These two new server types just give a home to a playerbase out there who have walked away from WoW or are playing WoW but just wished there was “more” to challenge them.

M+ has infinite difficulty currently.

Increased difficulty on infinite difficulty isn’t needed.

It also wouldn’t be worth the cost and further dividing the player base because people don’t have self control

The second server was just to give more variety and focus on the server for those that are the 1-2% Key pushers. These servers will have a healthy population but won’t “split” the population in anyway that makes an impact on normal servers. Classic and players who aren’t currently subbed would be the ones interested.

The Retro server would also act as a “ease” into retail wow server for returning players but still has potentional to push Mythic raidng and be the server many would enjoy without the requirement to push keys.

Only “special” server I’d actually pay more to use is a ‘shard free’ server.

Seems terrible.

  1. Mythic raiding wound be near impossible without M+ for gear and crests for many players.

  2. No one is going to pay for more affixes. M+ is already as hard as each individual can handle.

I hate Mythic+ (or raiding, for that matter). Guess what…I simply ignore it! I don’t need someone to waste resources to create a separate server for players like, just for the “vibe”.

did you remake this thread after your other got reported?

My last hope at enjoying wow. New Servers (Retro/Premium). (Holly please read, I know you will understand) - Community / General Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums

Please don’t spam the same thread every day. It was already explained that nobody is going to shell out 35 dollars a month for a more restrictive server yesterday.

But you could spend an extra 20 dollars to do that instead. Buy&Large. Why spend less when you can spend more.

Thats great but you can’t be competitive in Mythic raiding without it. Specifically for tanks and healers. I am sure the countless dps will say otherwise but Tanks and Healers right now, a larger then normal majority of them hate everything about Mythic + in its current state and it effects their raiding experience as well.

Blizzard adds the server or not I dont care, I have no intention of play retail until Mythic + has zero impact and I mean ZERO impact on Mythic raiding. The retro server doesnt force change on current players who love mythic raiding…it is just a home for those that dont want it to be a thing at all. Mythic + players can simply not play on the server and nothing changes.

The retro server will bring in old players, make a home for some current retail players and probably have a bunch of classic players give retail WoW a shot again.

Didn’t you already make this thread

No, it won’t. It will do nothing because it’s an upcharge on a server with removed content.

Yea thats what wow needs with 5 versions of classic splitting the community already, yet another version of the game but retail this time! /s

What does it matter if people are leaving because they hate Mythic +. If it puts butts in the seat to pay, that is what matters to Blizzard. There is no reality where people who are playing retail WoW on normal live servers are going to be unable to find other players. Except Tanks for the current crapshoot that live is in.

There is no situation where someone is leaving because they don’t want to play M+, but would come back to spend an extra 20 dollars a month to not play M+ but nothing has changed other than no longer having the option

Yes. Because apparently you can’t name a Director, even if it’s in a positive light and praise. I just removed their name. This post is within the rules and the previous post was removed.

You could’ve simply edited that post to be appropriate. Even if this doesn’t violate rules, there’s nothing of any merit here. It’s an extra charge for a server with reduced content and no other changes. That’s genuinely worthless.

No it wasn’t. People simply stopped responding to the thread and it fell off the top of the list.

This they/them/he/she is going on a rampage complaining about mythic Plus all over the forums. Between copy and pasting the same topic because one gets flagged, to arguing with anyone. It’s pretty clear that you need to take a break from video games and get some fresh air. You seem very angry and combative. All of this online game stuff is fake, and absolutely none of this matters. You’re giving it way more energy than it needs to. You’re making paladins look bad, it might end up getting yourself a ban.

Sure seems that way. At least this time, they did not call out a specific someone at the top of the ladder. Then again, it’s a Blood Elf thread. I mean, taking it seriously is a judgement call.

It wasn’t. It was reported and temporarily hidden for review, but it was still there. It had since been reviewed and restored, with a slight title change as calling out Blizzard and Blizzard staff in your title is frowned upon. Please keep to that thread.

Note: If it had been removed by moderation, recreating it as you have here would have been a violation of our forum policies. Please be mindful going forward.
